Weekend Rundowns

I worked all weekend.

Big cabaret night on Saturday and an epic George Bernard Shaw play called "Back to Methusela" all day Sunday. (And yes, it's as boring as it sounds...)

No partying for me, but such is life in the theatre, dahlinks!

Hello Auntie Roddy! :D

Alright mate?

It was at a place about 20 miles past Aberdee, just before Newburgh. There was about 25 DJ's, a huge soundsystem, and a great atmosphere. Proper old school raving....loved it!

do me a favour and get in touch with me if you hear of anything like this in the future... sounds class.

ps. post pics if you have them or someone else does 8)

There's heaps of things like this up here now. There was one in a forest a few weeks ago, and one at Dunnotter Castle a month or so ago.

The dj's are awesome, and the crowd is always spot on...very friendly. The equipment set up is also great to; Two CD-J's, 2 Decks, Ableton Live etc...

I'll keep you informed!

good stuff, sure i could rally a few troops up for one of those.
dunottar castle is a wicked setting for a rave, was there a few weeks back and remember saying this to my pals at the time!

another good location would be the beach up at loch morlich. was there last weekend. made it down to that wee club in aviemore again, cant remember much about it (although the women in cafe mambo were up to the usual standards ;) )

fri - relatives are starting to arrive for the wedding so was at my future sister-in-laws flat for drinks

sat - nipped to town and while laura had a dress fitting, me, future father-in-law and future brother-in-law got a few beers

quiet nite in with a bottle of wine later

sun - went to Largs with the inlaws for the day, altho me and the FBIL managed to slip away and see Le Guens Rangers win! :)

Firstly, big hello to Barbie and Robder - very nice to see you back on the board, I've missed you both.

Friday - dinner out - couldn't be bothered to cook.

Saturday - Went shopping then waited for Robbie G's brother to arrive from Huddersfield. The ginger version of him arrived late afternoon had dinner then went straight out to have drinks in London. Around midnight went to MoS where we met Russ, Mrs Russ, Kang, BBS, Dan X, Robo and Damo. The crowd was very weird - I have never seen so many Glo Sticks (especially in the 21st Century! 8O ) but everyone was friendly, it wasn't crowded and the music was the best i have heard in a long while in BOTH the bar and Box. I flitted between the two rooms as i couldn't decide which one was better and to cool down from being in the Box (Extremely hot, clothes instantly stuck to me). Barbie, you'll be glad to know that the podium is back in its place in the Box but the VIP room is open to everyone and now there is a VIP VIP part on the other side of the balcony which you can only go in if you book a table or buy a bottle of Vodka or something - just like Pacha in Ibiza.  There is also no raised bit at the back of the Box, that's been removed and a balcony for the VIP VIP people has been built above.

Sunday - Back to mine for some. Had an amusing Diet Coke and Mentos incident in the garden early in the morning - yes it does work. But Dan you need more practice on the delivery of the mints into the coke without running away so quickly! :D Had a few hours sleep then Robbie G and I went to Guns and Roses at Wembley Arena around 9pm. Thought it was an excellent concert - very enjoyable - even though everyone threw their beer into the air when they came on stage and i got covered in it - i thought it was amusing as i was still a bit 8O from the night before and i was really hot and needed to cool down. Axel Rose didnt even stick around for the last song (something about not feeing well  ) but this other guy came on and finished the concert in style (apparently he sings for Skid Row or something).
All in all great weekend. :)

Think there may be a forest party again soon, I'll keep you informed. Dunnottar is a great place for a rave....bloody nightmare carrying all of the speakers etc though!

Highlight of my night from Sat was; lying on the beach completely on another planet with the girl I had just met, the rain pouring down, then Yeke Yeke getting played...awesome!:p

Hello, I've been allowed back into the community

Re Ministry that's what it was like last 2x we went - they have tried to make VIP more exclusive (but don't know why they let me in then  ) cos they were getting lots of DSI monkeys in there  The new VIP is really nice cos you can see over into the Box how it used to be in the old VIP ages ago.

Yes it's a bit scary re-integrating isn't it? 8O I keep forgetting that I no longer have to talk to people through intermediaries.

(still not quite sure why all that happened - Stephen?)

Must check out the Ministry again - it's been a while but the people are a bit scary aren't they? :? Are Nude still doing stuff there?

I think I should be in a Half Way house to rehabilitate me back into society

Oooh thanks...It is time to slow down though. I've been going a bit too crazy lately and one of my good friends in Wiltshire is about to drop a sprog. :? May have to visit her that weekend.

...or maybe I could blag a freebie and just stick my head around the corner.

Ooooh, I'd like to go to that one again! :)

But sadly, the mother-in-law is coming to visit that weekend. *sigh!*

This is definitely a summer for live music... and lots of older acts back out on the road :D

Was never a big GnR fan, but I'd probably go if they came around. Hard to believe it's been a decade and a half since they were huge!

One of the last big concerts I worked on back home was Bon Jovi and that was good fun!! Reminded me of the days of teased hairdos, too much eye make-up and crazy drum solos.

There was actually a bloke who did a guitar solo by playing it by hitting his fingers on the top of the strings instead of strumming it and then he crawled around the floor on his back and spun around just like Michael J Fox in Back To The Future!8O It was all a bit weird really and just felt like he was "padding" the concert out. Actually he was really rubbish, don't know why they bothered with him!
