I suppose I'll get the ball rolling this week...

Friday - Went out for a couple of beers al fresco at the Starlite Diner before heading over to Club XIII for lack of better options. Local resident Galin played a great set, followed by an entertaining set by a group called Umbrella (percussion, guitar and bass accompaniment to dance tracks). Ran into a promoter friend around 5am who insisted I accompany him to check out a club called Sexton with "a very unique, fun atmosphere" :? ... upon arrival at the place, located a ways from downtown, I learned it was a huge biker bar    Interesting complex with outdoor stage, cafe, dance club (with a very good DJ playing... didn't catch his name), lounge and a 3-story outdoor restaurant built in a gothic style with what can only be described as scrap metal. I only felt slightly out of place :? but the manager, with whom my friend needed to meet, was really nice. :D After about an hour there, we headed back downtown for more traditional afterhours at club Garage.

Saturday - Woke up around 5pm after very little sleep and felt like a trainwreck. Forced down a big helping of lagman (Central Asian spicy lamb and noodle soup) at a restaurant around the corner, after which I felt much better. Slept a couple more hours before the missus and I went to DJ bar Citrus for drinks and a hookah. Ran into a DJ friend whom we hadn't seen in ages. Eventually made our way over to Dyagilev Project where Ron "Back Together" Carroll was playing a nice set of happy sunny house music (though I wish he'd sung along to more songs than he did (only 2) as that would have set his appearance apart from anyone else with some CDs and half-decent mixing). Afterwards, we sat in an outdoor cafe for a bit and enjoyed the morning sun and fresh air.

Sunday - Recovery. Pizza delivery. Several DVDs of "Friends".

Fri: For the first time this year I managed to stay in8) Just chilled and watched tv. Night turned out better than expected though when I had a nice surpirse guest at 3am :D

Sat: Went out for lunch, then a spot of shopping..got some smart new jeans. At night, went to a few bars then Lottie @ Snafu:p The place was packed and the atmosphere was awesome. I was a bit too8O and could hardly speak. Afterwards, back to an after party at a mates with about 40 other folk. Had the police round on two occasions, which was abit 8O

Sun: Ended up getting in mid morning, then slep for a few hours before dying for the rest of the night

Friday: Spent the night at my friend's bar, leaving around 4
Saturday: woke up very late, pep cooked a deliciuous lunch and drove up to north and spent the whole afternoon in a clean, desertic beach, had a drink in a beach bar in the way back and decided to have sushi for dinner. Got back home around middnight and had an early night
SUnday: woke up late, had breakfast in a nice coffee terrace, read the papers and then went to my mum's for a family lunch and lots of fun with my four nieces and my nephew

Fri

Dropped Laura off at some dodgy miners club for her friends future sister-in-law's hen night. I went home and chilled for a wee while before having a couple of beers and getting ready for PRESSURE @ The Arches.

Arranged to meet my friend in the city centre as he was at a leaving do for someone he worked with. Phones me just before i leave my flat, says he'll meet me at the bar the do is in. Phone him when my train gets in and he has gone to his work to get changed into more sensible clothes! I'm stuck on one of the dodgiest corners in Glasgow!

Eventually he turns up - absolutely steaming drunk. His girlfriend is here as well (this is a turn up as usually she is the drunk one acting the fool). Head round to Pressure and thankfully because we bought tickets - we don't have to queue.

Pressure was excellent as always (really need to start going there regular). Only caught glimpses of Stephane & Adam Beyer. Spent the early part with Slam and then shuttled between Felix da Housecat & Dave Clarke - felix being better than usual and clarke playing some real banging techno!

My mate (being drunk) disappeared so his gf went to find him. Eventually i went to check out another dj and ended up going back and forth to get a flavour of both - managed to bump into her twice but lost her both times as she endevoured to find my mate!

Pressure finished at 4:15 so headed out and called my mate to try to locate him - He had left early (found out next day at about 3) and so had his gf!!!!

Cracking night tho'

Sat

Not feeling too much pain in the morning Laura and I had a nice lunch with her parents and grandparents. Did not a lot at all for the rest of the day apart from the shopping (and had a first tinker with Ableton Live! 8O )

Sun

early morning golf - hard going but good fun.
rested all afternoon
Laura and i went for some dinner in Glasgow city centre - not the best mexican ever but ok. Walking down the street, saw the massive Cineworld building and decided to go catch a movie - X Men 3. Excellent stuff (i loved the Xmen comics), mega special effects but still some good actors there!

Mon

not got today off so boooooooooooooooooo!
but only 2 weeks this friday to my mini-ibiza tripyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah!

Thus - Out for Dinner at Julies with some friends over from the US for my bestfriends wedding.

Fri - Spent running around doing last min things for......

Sat - My bestmates wedding, I was groomsmaid. 8) The ceramony was lovely (I had to do a reading) Followed by a nice meal and utter carnage at Jewel bar (my new dress and shoes are destroyed, and I'm full of bruises) 8O 8O WTF?????

Sun - Met up with 10 mates at Gourmet burger in Chiswick, ordered too much food which we all couldn't eat and ended up in the pub followed by a filthy drunken curry.

Mon - Off around to see my friends new flat in a few hours and sink more wine. :p

Then my new liver arrives by post tue morning. :?

Nothing went according to -plan (what a surpise on a Bank Holiday Weekend    )

Missed my train back from London on Friday so didnt get back to Newcastle until v.v. late so got a lot more trashed on getting home than I anticipated - spent all night with Jonny our San Fran visitor getting madder and madder, louder and louder and a hell of a lot more wasted than the original plan.

Sat much of the same - except made definate plans for next year and renewing our wedding vows. Our friend's boss has bought a holiday home in Hawaii and we can borrow it next year, taking Jonny with us as a witness and then travelling over to San Fran for the third week of the jaunt.... I am soooo excited..... I think I need a new wedding dress too for the occasion although Phil thinks we should wear our original outfits ......:?

Sun Drove Jonny back to Leeds to see his folks before flying back to SF today.

Mon - serious recovery and lots of food (my jeans fell down when I went for the newspapers this morning - eeek!!!!8O    )

Tues - TBC

Hope everyone's weekend was a blast!!!8)

Played at Tribal Sessions at Sankeys (last all nighter before it closes for a refurb) on Friday night which was superb. Then proceeded to 'enjoy the atmosphere'[ til the small hours. And back at the hotel.

Spent most of Saturday feeling crap on the way home then went out for an amazing south indian meal in Cleveland St, then popped to Shoreditch for a mate's birthday at the Owl & Pussycat.

Sunday and today spent mostly chilling, finishing my tune for a remix comp (go to www.myspace.com/guyhornsby for the result) and tidying up the gaff in preparation for a montherclucker of a week at work. Joy.

Scot, you gonna be out there in september???

Not this year i'm afraid Rob - the wedding his changed the normal routine!
Just the long weekend in June

(although if someone wants to kidnap me and the wife around about the time of the We Love... closing and take us to Space - feel free ;) )

Friday: Questlove from The Roots played a 3 hour hip hop/80s/rock set.

Saturday: Caught Noel Sanger @ a dive bar.

Sunday: Bbq @ a friends house.

Today: 2.50 pints of Stella all day long...now I'm home and slightly drunk. :D

Friday - Few drinks at home and then Fiction at the Cross. Absolutely fantastic night. Best Fiction Ive had for a long time. Didnt want it to end. Left at 5am and went back to a friends in Surrey Quays. Continued on until 2pm!! Yuck!!
Saturday: Got to bed around 2.30pm. Up at 5.30pm. Out for dinner to Yauatcha with a few friends. Only the cocktails and wine got me through. Dinner was lovely though. Few drinks afterwards in the Edge in Soho. Home by 1am.
Sunday: Up at 10am, nice big breakfast. Did a few things at home and then down to Royal Vauxhall Tavern (RVT) for 2pm for a friends birthday. My first time there and it certainly lived up to its reputation!!8O 8O 8O Stayed until 9pm and then home for a quick bite to eat and straight out to DTPM at Fabric. Decent enough night but was too packed and I was a little tired so found it hard to get into it. Went home at 4am for a couple of hours and then out to Orange3 at the Coliseum at 6am. Forced myself through until 10.30am and then called it a day.

Overall, a brilliant bank holiday weekend....pity the next one is so far away!!

Fri - met Tom, Jamie, Rach, Jon and Becki for drinks in the T Bar after work, fab night, ended up getting very drunk (and managed to break my phone   )

Sat - Mr Dish came round in the evening and we managed to stay quite civilised (I even cooked 8O  ) and just had a few wines in preparation for the main event on Sunday.

Sun - up early to get coach from Victoria to Winchester for Hi-Fi. Had a few drinks in pub in Winchester and then got taxi to site. Got in at 3pm and got my lanyard  and realised Carter was playing at 3.30pm so had to assume stalking duties  Carter was on top form and looking oh so fit and he blatantly wants me  The next few hours all blend into one, remember seeing Oakie (who was excellent and played a proper old Oakie set), Erick, Sander K, Sasha and Digweed who were surprisingly good and 2ManyDJs who were my set of the festival. Also did the obligatory fairground rides  Hi-Fi was a fab festival, was worried it might not be as good as Homelands but it is more than an adequate replacement. Got coach back from Winchester at 6am, decided to get off at Heathrow which was quite traumatic (all these 'normal' people all fresh going off on holidays and we look like we've just come thru a war zone 8O  )

Monday - carried on all day back at ours.

I love Bank Holidays :D

Friday: Drinks after work and then we headed out to Love Bar for my friends house night there which was a lot of fun as usual. Attempted to get back to bed by 2am but then had a delivery and ended up back in town carrying on until mid morning

Saturday: Woke up on my friends floor, spent 3 hrs looking for my keys   , eventually decided to go out and get videos rather than go home, watched howls moving castle which was lovely, had a few beers and then got a taxi home quite early.

Sunday: GOt up at midday and headed down to the pub on the river in preparation for the Slide boat party, had a couple of drinks and then on the boat at 2 - was as usual absolutely brilliant, it's the slide regulars that all go meaning an absolutely lovely bunch of people. Off the boat at 8 and then straight on to the after party which finally ended at 3am (although we didn't want it to  )

Monday: Slept all day, up in time for dinner and BB. Anyone else see Rebecca Loos get slated by Sharon Osborne on CelebXfactor? Very funny indeed, but i did feel sorry for the poor woman
