Weekend Rundowns

I think they add in one fat bird and a token black guy just to balance things out

Yeah your right - I still like watching it though! Great hangover telly now that the OC is a pile of poo poo!:D

Given that Anna's family visiting, while lovely for us, is probably not that exciting for you guys, my only reportable incident of the weekend was yesterday's fist fight with some asshole I saw beating his girlfriend up in the street. The subsequent Benny Hill style chase, after the first couple of traded blows made it clear I'd bitten off more than I could chew (it was quite a shock when he pulled himself up to his full height:lol: - 6 ft4 or so), must have been hilarious to watch. Luckily the police turned up (I'd called them because he was giving her a proper hiding:cry: ) before he'd caught up with me.

Bugger managed to catch me with a right hander exactly on the bump from getting kicked in the head at football on Saturday.

So... all in all, I'm pleased to have reached Monday alive.

The comedy element aside, domestic violence is depressing, none more so than when, as in this case, the woman refuses to press charges. She was actually defending him to the police and saying 'we always fight'. I said "Does he always smash you repeatedly in the face while holding you against a car?"

Hope I don't run into him in a local pub - he'd probably tear off my arms and beat me with the wet ends.

Youre probably now wondering why you even bothered!

Weekend in Spain was nice, saw loads of family.

Couldn't agree with you more Buckley and all credit to you for stepping in and doing the right thing.

You're closing quote made me

Good on you Buckley! I always wonder what i'd do in that situation if I saw someone being attacked etc - i'm only 5 foot 3 and can't punch to save my life but like to think I could help in some way..

Don't know, if I hadn't I'd scared he might have beaten her death by now. :(

Oh I agree it was the thing to do, its just frustrating that it may not have any long term consequences. He'll probbaly only do it to her again on another occasion

Do what I can sir. I do like that phrase - in fact I used it as a threat on Saturday when the oppo's mouthy striker threatened to shoot me (prepostorous twat:lol: ).

Wow!

The exact same thing happened to us a few years ago.

I was out round the bars with my brother when whilst trying to flag a cab saw some guy smacking his, what we presumed to be, his girlfriend in the face. He had her in a doorway near to where we were stood so we had to intervene. Similar to you, we didn't realise how big this guy was - he turned around and leapt on my brother and had him held down in the road while BITING HIS EAR 8O

Anyhow, i ended up kicking this guy until he eventually got off, then he turned on me so i landed him one right in the chops and he legged it :? I was so angry when i saw the blood pouring from bro's head, i chased him and managed to catch up with him. So had no fear by this point so landed him a couple more punches and hopefully broke his nose :p

Then it was off to the hospital so get brother sorted - we were extremely worried about his ear, but turned out fine after a few days bandaged up.

Some nice people out there innit!

:x

P.S. My weekend was full of the usual debauchery but despite that i feel GREAT today!

A-ha but dont always be fooled! My friend was walking along the street after picking up his pay in cash, he felt something tugging at his pocket, only to turn around and see some scally woman nicking his pay packet (quite a few hundred quid) out of his pocket! on this he swung round and smacked the woman in the face, causing her to drop the money and fall back. To this, a couple of do-gooders came running over to grab my mate, thinking he was beating up his girlfriend! When he told them what had really happened they chased after this girl and held her until the police came.

whilst i agree that domestic violence is no laughing matter..............

did anyone see the topical episode of curb your enthusiam the other week.

I've been in this situation a couple of times but somehow managed not to get into a fight. I think both times I was in a group and generally if you all stop, turn and stare the guy will lay off. Not a long term solution, of course, but neither is getting yourself beat up in the process!

We didn't start on the guy, we just told him he needs to lay off and he just ran at my brother with no warning.

It was obvious it was his g/f from what they were shouting at each other.

Obviously not stable if he pulled a Tyson-Holyfield act on your brother

Friday: Went to a breaks party with Keith McKenzie and a few locals; decent night.

Saturday- Had a coworkers wedding to go to. It was rather painless due to all the free liquor. In the evening went out for sushi with a few friends, and then to a bbq for more food.

Sunday- Did some spring cleaning through out the house, and managed to stop at the gym for a quick work out.

Painless because of all the free liquor... or just enough free liquor to dull the pain?

Sounds like someone ate their weight over the weekend. I'm a champion eater and that sounds like a bit much even to me!

A bit of both I suppose lol. And yes I ate entirely way too much; I was full all day Sunday from all the food I ate the previous night. :p

He didn't touch the hair though, right?

(Sorry to hear that mate!)

No damage, cosmetic or otherwise. Scumbag though.

All the foorball fitness training came in handy, then?

Maybe you should hire him to chase the rest of your team around the pitch to get them conditioned ;)
