aah! what shoes did you get him? I remember my first school shoes, start-rite ones. How I loved those shoes.

we got him measured up at clarks and got him some real funky efforts (look a bit like the type diesel make). beautiful!!!:D :D

they are called 'cruising' shoes (no inappropriate jokes please, please, please), as he's not proper walking yet but is nearly there. "they grow up so quick, don't they":( :D

I used to LOVE the machine at clarkes that would measure your feet automatically. It was so exciting!

Sat: Good to see a few peeps from here at Electronica 8) . Decided for a slightly early exit to ensure we got into a club after. Even had a little trouble getting into Type, which was already rammed when we got there.
Russ, how was sunday?? Did you get into any trouble?
Type got a bit more empty from about 3 so we had some room to dance in. Music was spot on as always. Didnt make it to vvvwi.

of course not ferd. i got home at a reasonable hour and was up to support mrs russ in her 1/2 marathon as i promised. she did brilliantly, finishing in 2hr 20.

fri - Fabric was absolutely wicked, gold stars to Daniel Taylor, Cedric Benoit & Matsa and James Zabiela (on fire!!)

sat - Great to catch up with Russ, Stu, Neilly, Dan, Buckers and Ferd. Plans for an early night evaporated when I dropped by my mates house on hoxton square for a chat and ended up getting home at 7am hehe

sun - Very little

A lovely long extended weekend that went past way too fast.

All started on thursday evening and driving up to nottingham. Spent a lovely relaxing day in nottingham, a bit of shopping, and whilst rachel was at uni in the aftenoon i relaxed. We had tea and drove back down to london/essex. Saturday and the birthday day. Opened my pressies from Rachel in bed, and decided to have a long lay in. During the afternoon i took Rachel to sample the delights of Southend sea front where after being there for half an hour it began to snow quite heavily  but i treated her to a walk along the front, and few go's on the slot machines AND a doughnut! I mean, what more does a girl want! anyone would have thought it was her b-day!

Came back from there, had tea and got ready for the night. Started off by having a "few" drinks in town first and then jumped on the tube to the end. We got there about quarter past 11 and there was a huge queue for non ticket holders, but luckily none what so ever for tickets holders so in we went.

We were greeted by the sounds of Bushwacka who was playing from 10 till 1 and he done a very good job in getting the place ready for Sven. Very "DC-10ish". Perfect. Sven came on at 1 and the the place was jumping. The atmosphere was incredible, the crowd was great, the music was awesome and i really apprecited how good a venue the end is and how great the sound system is. Come 3 o clock and sven was in full flow and the place was goin crazy. People dancing on the dj booth. Sven was knocking out this great techno music with deep deep basslines, and they way the music flowed was just incredible. But the highlight of the night for me HAS to be when he played Knights of Jaguar. I truly love that song!! Afer that he played a bit more melodic, and dare i say it trancier, yet still with that tardemark techno edge to it. Awesome.

The dj booth in the end is great, and was soo great to see sven really having a great time, looked like he was really enjoying himself. Was also great to see that even at 6:30 the main room was still rammed, no-one was going anywhere!.

Full marks to the end for not over ramming the club meaning that there was always that little bit of space to dance. Great to spend time with Jon and Becki. The end is a great club for this type of night, and i can see why the dc10 party was such a good night.

Sunday we relaxed and went out for a lovely Thai meal. And today we went to bluewater to spend some of my b-day money and get some cd's............

.............And Rachel has just gone.:cry::cry:

All in all the best birthday i've had in a long time!!

Armin will be hot this summer in Ibiza. Why? Because he manages to play different styles. Last night he played in La Rocca, a famous HOUSE disco in Belgium, he took over and started playing progressive house and electro 8O then came a bit of trance back to real ass shaking house and back to more commercial trance. INCREDIBLE. In 4 hours he played all genres you can imagine! Absolutely the best set of the year! If he plays like this in Ibiza he will surprise a lot of people. Armin and electro a strange combination but he just keeps bouncing. 8)

rest was boring

Fri: Went to a really good night, Outagain Vs Disfunktion @ Snafu. Great crowd and music, danced the whole night:p :p :p

Sat: Felt very wrong during the day, so went into town for a few drinks. At night, headed out to a mates 21st before leaving to go to a better club. Excellent night, and ended up with a girl I've had my eye on for months8) :p

Sun: Spent the day in bed:D ;). Only ventured out the house once all day to take a certain someone home. Rotten hangover, which still hasnt gone away and its Monday night!!

Great weekend8)

Urrrrggggghhhhh.
48 hour bender, I've felt terrible all day ....... but......... the fact I fly to St.Lucia tomorrow morning is softening the hangover. 8) 8) 8) 8) .....................YAY.

beat me to it robder, amazing, amazing, amazing tune. so many memories, was everywhere when i worked in ibiza in 2000 and is still an underground classic IMO. :D :D

close your eyes and its home @ space in 2000 and the summer season has only just begun..........

That reminds me - I'll take your Knights of the Jaguar (which I'm sure I (funnily enough) heard in Ministry that night too) and raise you Tomaz vs FilterHeadz - Sunshine, which got played at Stu's do, which IMO is the very perfection of "that" genre.

All in all though, a rubbish weekend.

Did nothing Friday (after 2 biggies Wed and Thur), then was doing ok at Dust on Saturday, then in an instant, all those around me decided they were going home. Fuming. Then went to Ministry, which ranks along possibly one of the worst mistakes of my adult life.

any particular reason for that???

or is it just the fact that you went in the first place:?

Haha, no no no my friend, just a mild exaggeration.

It was just a "nothing" night, and I shouldn't have wasted my time in there, that's all.

It always reminds me of La Troya after the sun has come up. Dj Olivier always plays it as he last track.

Amazing track.

what kinda like one of those situations when you hand over your money to get in (if you paid) and literally as soon as it leaves your hand, you get that feeling of totally wasting your cash and time and energy and you know you've made a mistake............

Haha, you've been "there" before then aswell!

;)

Friday - had a few impromptu drinks in Camden with my old work lot. Good to see all my old pals, catch up with the girlies and hear all the work gossip! Left about 10pm and got picked up by Jon at the station, he'd stayed in cooking me my dinner... just the way it's supposed to be

Saturday - Nothing in the day, drove over to friend's flat at about 6pm to get the party started ;) Started drinking and getting minxy, then headed to the end nice and early for about 10pm. We were the first ones in!! Felt very strange going in when its totally empty, but it soon filled up. Bushwacka started the night off playing from 10-1am. He was really good suprisingly, he played it a lot more techy and dirtier than Ive heard him before. Sven Vath came on at 1am... oh my god what can I say about this man. I'm yet to hear a dj who can impress me as much. I was a bit worried how he;d play, as we'd heard him before in Fabric and he wasnt as good as he is in Ibiza. But my fears were unfounded as he played probably the best set Ive heard form him yet. He wasnt as hard as I think he is at Cocoon, he played a mixture of everything from dirty, bassline techno, uplifting trance, and pumping house. The people who know me on here know I dont normally dance all night in a club, but OMG you couldnt keep me off the dancefloor! I was even bugging Jon to get back onto the dancefloor and stop sitting down
I even managed to touch the God that is Sven Vath's hand haha... I havent washed it since ;)

Like Rob says when Sven played a 15min version of Knights of the Jaguar, the crowd went wild. All night the place was going crazy, people were dancing on Sven's dj booth, getting on eachothers shoulders, swinging from the ceiling etc  It was a really really good atmosphere. Great to see Rob and Rachel out having a great time aswell :D

I'm just counting the hours until Cocoon Opening in June now

Had a bit of a carryon round our mates on the Sunday, then died a death back at Jons and finally got some sleep.

Mon - Had the day off so me and Jon went for some retail therapy in Bluewater.... and only bumped into Rob and Rachel again while we were there  Cant get away from you two this weekend!!! ;)
