Weekend Rundowns

Good Monday morning, party people. :D It's that time again to recap the weekend that was.

We had a bank holiday last Wednesday (International Women's Day) so I had a split weekend. Some added school-night action made it quite a busy week.

Tuesday - Spent half the day at the office feting the ladies in our department. Went to the sports bar for Champions League action in the evening  then off to Club XIII for Erick Morillo. To his credit, he played through nearly until closing time as opposed to just a couple of hours guest set. To his detriment, his set was all over the place and not very good. Still, I was just wasted enough to tolerate it but the missus was so annoyed she bailed out early

Wednesday - big lie-in. Cooked the missus a big English-style breakfast fry-up at 4 in the afternoon

Thursday - back to work but that evening I made a killer pot of cajun jambalaya before the missus and I went to hear the funk/latin/loung/blues-influenced rock music stylings of Fun Lovin' Criminals :D Great concert and a nice evening but got a bit hammered in the process

Friday - came home after work and crashed out

Saturday - Busy day! First to the sports bar for Chelsea v Tottenham :D then to the hottest ticket in town, the Comedy Club. The American format of stand-up comedy is still pretty new here but this thing has taken off and the missus had to try all week to get us a table. Only problem was we were kind of far back from the stage and the bad sound system meant I only comprehended about half of the material :x

Afterwards I went to Houseworks @ Club Fabrique for DJ "Feel the Vibe" Axwell. He played a surprisingly good set. Then to Mix for some after-hours techno/tech-house action. Gets fuzzy there but I got home sometime the next morning and apparently brought home some take-out from TGI Fridays :?

Sunday - big big lie-in. Delivery chinese food for dinner.

Friday: Few drinks in town before heading out to The Zodiac for Hybrid at Slide. Hybrid were absolutely excellent, not too breaky which was lovely, nice proggy type stuff. Very impressed with them indeed. Headed back to someones for a bit of a carry on, stayed until about midday then headed home and slept on the sofa for a couple of hours until my future housemates turned up to feed me lunch and discuss living arrangements. Also was an opportunity for one of them to see the house.

Housemate who freaked out a while ago when we had an afterparty was extremely rude and stuck her fingers in her ears when my friends arrived and refused to talk to them... something to do with he not being able to read her book all day because I had music on. That girl is really starting to piss me off! Luckily she went home on sunday to get some peace and quiet.

Sat: Watched fear and loathing and party monster in the evening with a tub of ice cream. Fell asleep at about midnight as I'd only had about 2 hrs sleep so far this weekend...

Sunday: woke up late, cleaned the house, watched the royal tenebaums, went to bed early

Fri - Top Shop spree after work as a reward for getting thru my hellish busy week of work, then we went to our 'new house' (I love saying that  ) to take measurements etc for stuff. So excited, we can already visualise us in there :D Then nothing for the rest of the night cos my poor babe was proper poorly  so I did my best Florence Nightingale impression while he laid on the sofa.

Sat - Tom still poorly  Clothes and new house shopping and started packing up bags of things that we're throwing out (translation - to give to my mum to sell on e-bay  ). Tom felt marginally better after watching the football (it's amazing what a Chelsea win can do - his sickness was probably brought on cos of Chelsea losing to Barca  ) so we went to a lovely local restaurant but back early cos Tom still didn't feel great so I 'allowed' him to watch a DVD

Sun - Spent the day in furniture and home shops (I'm such a 30something these days 8O  ) ordering and buying new stuff for the house, I love moving

Friday: Nothing much

Saturday: Work for a bit, then went into town to pick up the last of our lights for the upstairs (only took us 2 years to get finished  but well worth waiting for the right stuff). Was up for a quiet night in until friends called with a couple of carrier bags full of drink. Got through most of that, then headed off out to a couple of late bars. Got absolutely wrecked but had a wicked time!

Sunday: Woke up fully dressed from the night before, but not feeling too bad. Lazed around for a bit, did our weekly food shop, came home and lazed around for rest of day.

Friday: meet two very old friends for dinner at Sal Café and then went for a couple of drinks and back home around 3.
Saturday: my mom and the inlaws came around for dinner, later on we met the usuals at the usual place for birthday tapas and drinks. I got lots of
pressents and a birthday cake with candles too

Got back home around 5.

Sunday. Pep worked all day, I woke up late, went cycling to enjoy the superbrilliant day and later on few friends came home for pizza and football

Brilliant weekend!

Friday:
Missed train to Brighton so got messy with the husband instead.

Saturday:
Got early train to Brrrrighton to see the embarrassing Brighton cousins. Went on wine safari from one house to the next...a stark contrast from a typical Saturday in London and it's lovely to have those sort of contacts to tap into when things get crazy in the smoke.
Drank loads of coffee, went for posh lunches, beached myself in various North Laine pubs and abducted a friend for drunken clothes shopping (always a bad idea - especially pre flat moving - eeek!) bought a gorgeous pair of Maharishi snopants and a very trendy hoodie with stars on it and removable sleeves. 8) I daren't check my bank balance today.
Evening - went for dinner at another odd ball friend's place (Brighton's equivalent of Maupin's tales of the city only better!!!) and collapsed only to be woken with a lovely fry up and cup of strong coffee. :D

Sunday: Roast dinner, few drinkies and got the train back to London for David Attenborough on BBC1 - wicked programme.

I'm just reading number 5 of the series - Significant Others, great books.

I love them!...but take away the American boy next door look and accent and you've got the embarrassing Brighton cousins - even down to the description of the house!

We've even got our very own Miss Madrigal - only she's ten times trashier and much better! 8)

...

Nice to have you back b___ o__, I've been worried. 8O
I'd jumped to every single conclusion except that you actually may have had work to do.

 I think we need to keep a close eye on Stuie, he's got the potential to be a rebellious b_______ and upset the ranks

robder just sent me some very odd texts on friday evening, mostly filled with underscores and that didn't make any sense

we never had a b_____ anniversary party, everyone was a bit rubbish last week (I sat in the forums and had threads about eye cream instead of important b_____ matters  because you and stuie were busy at work  )
