Weekend Rundowns

Sat: had a right busy day in da house so didn't make it out to Barbie's drinkies. We did however, make it along to Ministry for Soul Heaven. Must admit i was a bit worried that the music might not be to my taste but was VERY pleasantly surprised.

Nice vocal soulful house, bouncy fun stuff. Also the crowd was possibly the nicest ive experienced at ministry. hardly any beer boys, tourists or (according to mrs russ) sleazy blokes. just folks who wanna hear tasty music. spent most of the night in the bar where liquid people were especially good. ministry gets an unfair rep IMHO, every time ive been (recently) it's been great. apart from the new terrace at Space, the box is probably the most fantastic place to dance.

onto egg for some afters. i really like that place for a carry-on. none too bleepy music and a happy crowd. they do play the same records every time in the top loft and fat tony must be the worst technical dj in london. even after all these years he still cant mix!!!

great company (8) ) and a really fun night out

friday, birthday party at my friend's, got back home around 5ish
Saturday, we were meant to stay in our pijamas for the whole day but it snowed lots and after lunch we went to a close park in one of the hills and played with the snow
Sunday, stayed at home, did lots of home stuff and watched Barça winning again and Messi scoring two goals in five minuts 8)

Friday - my little sis and her b/friend came down to London for the wkend so drinks and out for dinner with them.

Saturday - Lou and Jules went sighseeting/shopping so I waited for Nancy to arrive, plan was to go shopping, after lunch and a bottle of wine the pub was much more appealing option  More drinks at home before we headed out, got to Match and met up with various others (lovely to see everyone :D ) and then headed into Turnmills. Music-wise thought David Guetta was excellent but I didn't think Fischerspooner were all that, really enjoyed Turnmills again tho. Left and kidnapped a few victims back to ours where my sister's b/friend produced enough ________ to put an army of horses down (the new b/friend definitely get the big sis seal of approval  ) Carried on drinking and minxing thru-out Sunday.

Fantastic birthday celebrations (part 2  )

 @ Silvia playing in the snow. Why don't we switch cities, dear... then you can play in the snow every day! :D

Friday - After work attended a dance "concert" with famous Russian ballerina Anastasia Volochkova. She's most famous for being fired from the Bolshoi but for rebounding with the assistance of government officials who had, oops, I mean, helped her. ;) Ballet vignettes interspersed with modern dance routines. Strangely, I found it all quite entertaining :? I'm not a fan of Volochkova but have to give her props for performing 2.5 months after having a child.

Afterwards home to change and then off to 2 clubs before coming home sometime early morning... picked up some carry-out sushi on the way.

Saturday - Lazy day until the missus and I went to the sports bar to watch Chelsea's subpar performance against Everton  Then over to a bar called Crisis Genre for a friend's birthday party. Good live bands and much beer consumed so was a bit tipsy by the time I made it to club In Time for Canadian techno DJ Jeremy Caulfield. Very nice tunes but some people I ran into there decided they wanted to go to one of my regular haunts, club Fabrique, so I caught a ride with them. Ran into many of the usual suspects and it was one of those nights when the resident DJs were in good form and pretty much everyone was smashed out of their wits. Good night. Grabbed some quesadillas from Starlight Diner on the way home in the morning.

Sunday - Finally put my computer in the shop for repairs and then took a long walk home, where I made a nice lamb curry and watched a pirate DVD of Woody Allen's movie Match Point.

friday: after work headed to the pub and ended up staying there until midnight   I was in an incredibly silly mood so ended up stealing peoples glasses and dropping them in pints, nicknaming people (my friend is now called stick face w**k face - which I reckond was a bit like 'madonna' and would get her far...) and talking to the barmaid in a terrible northern accent    about the lack of stella in her fine establishment. Got me a free drink though

saturday: spent the entire day/night on acid, was complete madness, we fell in love with a potato but then abandoned it at the canal, then drowned several other potatoes when we got home because they were evil and spent hours fretting about 'elephant foot barbie' who we figured would be a good addition to the range (don't ask!!  actually, question, do elephants have nails and if so what do they do?). Got very involved with charlie and the chocolate factory too 8)

Sunday: Mother and stepdad came to visit, I cooked her a nice meal. She was impressed by the clean house which was nice  made a change!!!

In the evening went on a date with a lovely boy I'd met the weekend before, had a great night, went out for dinner and drinks etc. I really like him   I think my cold, hard exterior might be cracking 8O 8O 8O. Trouble is he's really young, but I'll just have to cope... anyway, seeing him again on tuesday.

So overall an absolutely great weekend, but really looking forward to next weekend when I can dance like a madman which I've really missed recently.

What are Quesadillas? Anything to do with cheese?? 8O

Fri: Steve Lawler was brilliant, but the surprise PA wasnt.. the Audio Bullies came on for an hour or so and did the usual MCing, we just left to the other room when they came on.

Sat: Dinner for dads bday then off turnmills. Met up with the gang inside.. No need to say it looked pretty messy when I got there ;)
Spent most of the night in T2, thought Justin Robertson was fantastic, as were the ones after. Robo any idea who they were??

Glad I lasted till the bitter end on both nights. Good to be clubbing back in 2006!

Friday - cooked a curry for me and my friend, sat in and watched BB final, pleased that Chantelle won but annoyed that big cry baby Barrymore came second :x

Saturday - got my hair cut, nails done, and got ready for Bab's big birthday bash 8) Arrived in Farringdon at about 9ish after the usual problems on the tube  Met up with Jon, Russ, Ash etc and headed to Match bar to meet up with the birthday girl. Good to see everyone out, met the Little Morgan sister ;) and her boyf, also some people off Spotlight I had not met before ;)
OMG David Guetta was SOOOOOO good! Probably one of the best house sets I've heard ever! He played a great mix of tunes, including Just a Little more Love, Blur - Song 2, and Smells like Teen Spirit which got the whole room rocking  Fishcerspooner started off quite good but then got a bit too techy and boring so I spent most of the rest of the night in the chillout room gassing to people!
Went back to Russ and Ash's for a pretty civilised after party, left there at 10am then spent all day yesterday watching films and eating stew :D

Yes indeed.... "little cheeses"

Ferd, are you Spanish folk looking down on the Mexicans and their cuisine again?
(actually, I think it's a Texas creation but close enough)

Course not, Mexican cuisine is lovely im sure. Not that I touch it..
Im just thinking how i'd feel if I eat cheese straight after a night out!! 8O ;)

Fri: Was supposed to go ou for a few drinks with some mates, but the weather was awful so just decided to have a quiet night in8)

Sat: Worked all day:evil: At night, went ou for my mates leaving do (he's going to live in Oz) and also to celebrate my new job. Night started well, but all the free drinks I got soon got the better of me and ended up far far too drunk. Last memory of the night is going into the club at 1ish, then next thing I know I wake up in my bed and its 2 in the afternoon on Sunday:? Drink is bad!! Two day hangover still on the go!

Sun: At night, my mate Anna came round so I cooked dinner and watched a film.

My weekend was all going okay until i got to Leicester and had a drink, all down hill from there. Never been so drunk in all my life, i was sooooooo sick, im even off work today.

The only good thing to come out of it all is that i've lost 1/2 a stone and that i really am not going to drink in bars/clubs again

To be honest, wasn't an especially cheesy quesadilla. :? Lots of chicken and black beans in it, though, and really good salsa on the side 8)

(I should add, however, that while I remember picking it up I don't recall much about the eating part:oops: )

Friday: Dinner in Soho and home early to watch a bit of TV before getting an early night.
Saturday: Early morning jog and some gym work. Shopping and lunch in West End. Early dinner and then off to Match for Barbies birthday bash. Good to see everyone including a few I hadnt seen in a while. Nice to meet Nancy too. Stayed there for an hour or so and then off to another birthday bash in Soho. Home by midnight and tucked up in bed.
Sunday: Up early for a 5k race in freezing conditions. Spent the afternoon lazing around doing very little.

Think it might have bones and ramsey, or someone like that.....

Also thought guetta ws ace, although glad i left just before her played nirvana, and blur.

Justin robertson's acid house set in room was superb! and so "refreshing" to hear as well. not at all bothered i missed fischerspooner.

Friday - Day off work to spend my bonus:D hair cut then off to Rachaels for her engagement party in Stafford. Wicked basement set up with decks, lasers, uv light and smoke machine. All downhill from there :? One too many 'treats' later and i'm in bed at 6.30am almost passed out8O when the work phone goes off at 7am. Finally slept from about 10am - 4.30pm when the phone went off again so got up but Jip wasnt able to drive till about 11pm:lol: Home then straight to bed after blowing a mate off cos my comedown was too bad:oops:
Sun - Finally able to drag myself outta bed at midday to go shopping then back home for a bottle of wine, dinner then bed.

I'm getting too old for this!
