Weekend Rundowns :-)

Theres a lot of that going around at the moment.......also a lot of duds going around, especially on the Vauxhall scene. Apparently all the Chinese dealers in that area got sold a big batch of duds and they are trying to shift them all. I think its the white smiley's and dark blue ones you need to avoid.

I think it's mugs like us who have probably bought them all :x

Think we'll have to do our shopping elsewhere from now on... 8O

indeed we shall.. although it's not always convenient is it!!!

I wonder if I saw you there... I was the boy in the blue/grey stripey polo with a skull and cross bones print on it, never left the area just next to the podium front right corner

TBH I'd rather do nothing than dodgy ones anyway! At least you can get a bacon sandwich on the way home ;)

Erm... not sure if I saw you? I was wearing a black dress with slits on the sleeves, black tights underneath, gold slippers and a gold handbag? :?

probably didn't see you.. lol. Well, there were about 1000 people there! I always ask that question, but I've never come across anyone who I've seen...

Friday: The start of the public holiday.....went out for steak and ribs then to see Wedding Crashers....Very funny film :D Vince Vaughn plays a great neurotic

Saturday:Chilled and watched tv

Sunday: Glorious sunny hot day so got our kit off and did a bit of sunbakin on the balcony with a few beers. In the afternoon we went over to Mauri's mum and dads for a bbq and to watch the NRL grand final between West Tigers and N. Queensland Cowboys and had a few more beers (the Tigers won btw).
Headed home about 10ish feeling a bit tired but had to fight off the lethargy for the rest of the night ahead!
Headed out at around 11.30 drove around sydney for about 45mins trying to find parking   Finally found a spot and headed to Tank for Ron Carroll only to find a massive Q and to be informed that there was no chance of getting in
On to plan B: Sorted out our party favours fo the night and decided to go to Arq cos everybody else was heading up that way. Cue another 45mins trying to find another parking spot with no result
Plan C:Feeling exremely tired from the combination of sun and drinkin myself sober decided we'd head to Home, for the Parklife afterparty, where Sandy Rivera was playing. I don't really like this club as it's too big for the crowd it tends to pull in and set out a bit strange and doesn't tend to have much of an atmosphere and it closes too early!
Rivera played a good set but it was short, Played a lot of the anthems of the Summer so it was a nice start.
Left Home just before closing and headed up to Arq. I like this club for its after parties, although the musics not cracking it's got a good atmosphere, and the people are nice, and Gay so you don't feel awkward if some random guy starts chatting to you while your blokes in the lav  Spent the next few hours popping pills and chatting to random shirtless gay men. Met some really lovely blokes all with tales to tell about there relationships including the director of precilla queen of the desert, who told me a few tales about his very famous english friends ;) , and some poor little fella who's female friends were trying to force into pulling somebody! I'm not kidding this bloke had submissive written all over him, poor little thing, and he was a strange one! really hopeless but really lovely :D Left Arq around 9am due to an overwhelming bout of exhaustion and lack of feeling in our legs and feet

Monday : Spent all day in bed trying to sleep in the sweaty heat 8O got up around 6 still a bit off our rockers so sorry if this post rambles on but i just can't help myself

So all in all a great weekend :D just havin a few beers now to help me sleep again later

No i don't really like it. Its a bit too commercial for me and the crowd seem a bit young. It tends to get a bit like a cattle market 8O.

Last time we went it was absolutely dead! It just doesn't pull a big enough crowd!

BTW loved your second ibiza review installment :D

I spose however good a venue is, if the crowd isn't right or the music isn't up to it then it's not going to work. When Home opened in London they spend millions on it but it was in wrong location (Leicester Square so just attracted loads of clubbers) and got stung with a 3am closing (when everywhere else in London was closing at 8/9am) so was destined to fail before it even got started, shame really cos it had potential to be such a good club.

Aww thanks, just my usual innane ramblings   ;)

Yeah i think it was the same with the Home here. I know it's Sydney's first and only 'Super Club' and don't get me wrong it is in a lovely setting and quite lavish inside but the rest of the clubs here are small and intimate places and i think they have more of an older crowd, and stay open a lot later, so appeal a lot more to people. I think Home is probably one of the 'touristy' things to do in Sydney. They do get a few big name Dj's playing there but the set times aren't worth the door prices! Where-as places like Tank have great local and international dj's and really get there moneys worth out of em  and it usually only costs a fiver to get in :D

Yeah that's the kind of crowd Home in London attracted, we had to go a few times cos Oakie was resident when it first opened (and you know how much Tom loves Oakie   ) and this is going back a few years but I still felt old, I was surrounded by young tourists or young blokes who looked like they were on a work night out, as opposed to 'proper' clubbers :?

It's not nice to be yackin to some random girl in the toilet Q and her ask you your age and he jaw drop to the floor when you tell her your 26 is it

If you're ever over this way you should give us a shout.....i mean i'm not all that clued up on the scene here yet but i know a few good places to go for a boogie :D

Fri - Aha.......ressie gig was much better now that I've persuaded them to change the music policy. :P Only trouble was my computer started acting up with still an hour to go :( (don't usually take the 1210s in on a Fri).

Sat - Spent the day fixing computer and testing it out. Took the decks in as usual. Computer was fine, but, used vinyl for 90% of the night anyway (.....and craftily slotted in a good few new House tunes). Excellent very busy night, I think they were queueing to get in at one point. :D Afterwards I packed up and took my gear home, then off to Shindig for Shapeshifters and Island Nights. Absolute cracking night, had a short bit natter with one of Island Nights. Then, the very interesting drive home at 4.30am where I was chased by the Police and eventually cornered and surrounded! 8O 8O 8O

Sun - Chilled til 4pm then out for a hard 7 mile run down the woods then climbing the steep hill upto the TV transmitter, was on good form and ran really well. Teatime phonecall again, the DJ had cried off yet again so I covered for him for the 6th time in 2 months. Nice place, rough crowd, but, I was brought up there and can handle them. One guy wanted me to keep announcing that his mate had just come out of prison after 7 years. 8O Fook me what did he do to spend 7 years behind bars! 8O Maybe this is why the usual DJ keeps crying off 'cos I know him and he's a bit placid. Used the computer all night and was like a cat on a hot tin roof wondering if it was going to be alright, had backup CDs as usual, but it was fine. :D

Mon - slept til noon...........aaaaahhhhhh bliiiiiiissssssss. :P

I've outrun them twice.... once on a moped (but going off the roads and down bicylcle trails) and once in a car. Not sure either time why I was being followed, though the latter time I had a car full of beer and was underage :?
