Weekend Rundowns

I can't believe no one has started this thread yet... I guess everyone's dragging a little this morning

Friday - Nothing. Went home, ordered a pizza, passed out very early for no apparent reason.

Saturday - Had one of the most productive weekend days I've had in ages. I went to the store and bought all kinds of houseware stuff, fixed our leaky toilet, backed-up my computer hard drives, and totally reorganized my vast supply of spices. 8)

Saturday night - Visits to clubs First and XIII. At First they had a funny wedding-themed party going on. Later on at XIII, Craig Bartlett (SoulHeaven, L'America) was spinning when we arrived and played quite a decent set. Afterwards, the missus, three friends and I went for a late night (early morning?) snack at a 24 hour Chinese restaurant. I probably crashed around 7:30.

Sunday - A completely unproductive day by comparison. We did get some grocery shopping done, and I made a big batch of Uzbek Plov (mmmm :D ). Late evening we watched Chelsea draw 1-1 against Milan in New York, then straight to bed because I had to get up at the ungodly hour of 6:00 this morning to make an 8:00 meeting

Friday: beach in the afternoon for a couple of hours, exciting food shoping and stayed in with a bottle of wine and "Big fish" and I didn't cry ;)

Saturday: woke up and it was raining :? but around 12 it was sunny and bright so we head down the south. By 3 we were sitting with a couple of friends hitting a great paella and spent the rest of the day in the beach, won a voley beach game and played with the body surf :D Back to Barcelona went to a friend's for a big bbq in the terrace. Got back home too drunk to remember what time was it, but I think it was around 4.

Sunday: catch few hours on the beach then went to a restaurant opening party. Spent the afternoon and evening at the in-laws enjoying my lovely brother and sister-in law

Friday: Few drinks at home

Saturday: Busy day so intended staying in and have a quiet one, until we decided to pop out to get some drinks in and in the process decided to call on some friends. Oh dear! big mistake. Ended up getting wasted and staying up all night. Woke up late morning in their spare room feeling extremely spaced out.

Sunday: Spent all day in a state of recovery. Just managed to drag ourselves to supermarket to re-stock.

Monday: :(

Must stop burning the candle.

Big FIsh is a great film :D

Big Fish it's the film
When I first saw it I spent most of the film crying, something very strange on me cos I never cry watching films. But my dad died 10 years ago and this story was too much for me. Watching it again on friday was great, no tears for me   and enjoyed much more the whole story and production.

Can't wait to see Tim Burton's new film :D :D

I'm going to see Choco factory later :D :D :D

I must have read the book about 100 times when i was younger!

Friday - Night in! 8O Was on a money saver so decided not to meet drinking pals. Instead went to the off license and spent £25 on booze for the weekend which kind of defeated the object somewhat. :?

Saturday - Civilised tea and cake session in Notting Hill followed by doing my bit for the gays at Ruby @ Canvas.
It was a huge (& stupidly expensive  ) one off event but to be fair, no expense had been spared on production. On arrival was walking around open mouthed - love the venue! Can't wait for Cross Central at the end of the month now.
...I've been really spoilt recently with some amazing music and it's only served to make me more of a snob than I already was! Bless the gays, when they get it right, they really do it well but generally, the music in these places is a pile of shit. Half arsed funky nonsence which doesn't go anywhere. *yawn*
Absolutely devastated about missing Krivit at the Ministry. Grrr.
Was v cross with the gays at this point.

Sunday - Carried on through to the Soho street parties. Had an absolutely smashing brilliant time! Caught up with loads of people, drank far too much vodka and danced my little arse off! 8) Roll on next year.
Also met Richard Arnold from GMTV  ...my life is now complete.

Monday - Called in sick! :P daytime telly has never looked so good! Keep getting abusive emails from jealous friends though. Starting to get guilt pangs and am scared about getting hauled over the coals.

Can't believe I've got to do it all again next weekend. :? 8O

Yes, it was a summer storme. And yes, I was worried cos there's nothing else to do on summer than going to the beach

Friday- mate place first for some drinks. Then over to nation for Danny Krivit and Joe Clausell all night long - Immense.
Party after that. Supposed to go Circus/Chibuku sat night but ended up getting extremely messy till sunday afternoon.

Friday night: Stayed in and watched Big Brother with a bottle of wine

Saturday: Day: Gym, shopping, went to visit "my" Ferrari 612 and lots of other nice cars at a garage as a reward for going to B&Q
Night: Humoured MrB by going to a new Northern Soul night called Soul Sauce which was pretty good since we bumped into a few friends we hadn't seen for a while

Sunday: Headed back into town to find my car and bring it home, bacon rolls whilst watching the Grand Prix, back to bed for a couple of hours (whilst MrB tried to fix our desktop compter which is goosed - thank heavens for wireless laptop!) before yummy roast lamb for tea

Fr: You knew Tiesto was playing when you saw the queue at Turnmills at 10.30. We waited for 30 mins to get in, and that was just the members queue, I heard the normal one had a 3 hour waiting time 8O
Cattaneo was on at 12 so we saw all of his set. Quality driving progressive set, typical Cattaneo style 8) . Had the main room jumping from the start, and it wasnt too rammed either. Unfortunately that changed 5 mins before Tiesto came on, it was like an avalanche. We decided to give Tiesto a miss
Thankfully Tall Paul was starting his set in T2. Really good tough house set from the man :D . Made us completely forget to even catch a glimpse of Tiesto. From what people were saying he was ok. Probs best to ask Nitefly about the Global set, wouldnt have been to dissimilar I'd guess.

Sat: Had a few drinks with some mates
Sun: Saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, good film, specially Jonnhy Depp

Saturday - Civilised tea and cake session in Notting Hill followed by doing my bit for the gays at Ruby @ Canvas.

Rob, did you by any chance poke your head through the railings of The Cross club as you exited Canvas? Reason being, we were in The Cross, sitting outside, and someone who looked very like you poked their head through the railings and was waving into the club. The said person was with a lady with shoulder length blonde curly hair? :? Would have been at about 5am? Random I know but was it you?!

Fri - Meal with the future in laws, had beautiful thai food

Sat - My nephews 1st birthday party, ate too much and bounced too much on the bouncy castle until i felt sick!! lol

Sat evening - travelled down to Global Gathering - took soooooooo long
we got there in plenty of time tho but with no sleep.

Sunday - Global gathering, was absolutley fantastic, highlight was probably Carl Cox - love this guy. Cant wait for Ibiza now, that was a good warm up for it.

Dying now, havent slept and im only home, gotta go to work this afternoon

global smashed it

got the coach at 10 where the back of the coach was packed with pikies getting pilled up to hard house :( finally got there at 3 and just chilled on the side of the beach with a few beers talking bollocks and checking the talent :D shapeshifters were playing loads of crappy commercial house

went to the breaks tent to check out krafty kuts afterwards and whole place went off and saw a miracle, a man in his wheelchair got out and started dancing 8O got a bottle of poppers and chilled next to the beach again while prydz was playing until about 7 then checked the man lawler out,a little flat i thought but played good enough to keep me dancing it was about this time the sun finally broke through the clouds :D by this time i was a bit giddy ;)

strolled off to see tiesto, the beach was heaving and it was proper going off started with cave carnival :P then he dropped suburban train, beutifull things then southern sun made our way to the front and bumped into a few old buddies who didnt recognise me back :? by then the party was in full swing but he rest of my mates were pestering me to come and see morillo walked in to a full packed tent and didnt leave my spot for 3 hours cant remember what he played other then he finished with sweet  dreams  other than that it was possibly the best set of the night and speaking to other randoms they thought so to

spent the next hour trying to get some beans, finally found some but they turned out to be duds  made our way over to see the plumps and i can feel my body breaking down,i proper went for it for this hour using up all my energy, the whole tent was bouncing the plumps were on fire they dropped the rub off and soul vibrates(knocking the needle of the record  )but this pretty much finished me off my mind wanted to rave on but my body wanted to rave off

went and checked out josh wink for a bit then wondered back into the baboshka tent to see danny howells now this is more like it he was playing some jackin tech house which never gave up for the next 2 hours managed to find another bean which worked, got a second wind and just about managed to keep up with everyone until just before the end of his set where i collapsed in a heap at the side of the tent  was dragged outside in the cool fresh air but this was it i had to give it up,i said goodbye to my muckers and trudged off to find my coach which took 45 minutes :x

heres to global 2006 :D

 was a quality night, global is a massive event so much more effort goes into it than homelands and creamfields 8)

Not hard - the production at homelands is non existent!
I think I may have to go there next year then.
