Weekend Rundowns

Sunday: Ran my first 10k in just over an hour, was hard work as the sun was shining the whole way but felt proud of myself!!! :D

Laura how long did it take you to be able to run that far? Im trying to build up my running, I used to be totally useless, giving up after 5mins! Now I can run about 4.5k in half an hour (Still not very good I know  ) but I'm trying to build that up gradually. I just dont feel like I'll EVER be able to get past that, running for half an hour bl00dy kills me as it is, let alone an hour! 8O

Fri: descended into stupidness...... all at the Puppy House, one mate brought his PS2 round (among other things) with some camera and a game (I dont do computer games so had no idea what this was) Anyway, 4 hours later several additives have been added into the equation and we have our photos taken by the camera our heads are superimposed onto game characters and we are fighting zombies, kickboxing etc - which is very hard when your head is all over the shop and you have no control over feet and hands or at least a 15 second delay between brain signal and appendages - best bit of the night was taking mydogs photo - superimposing his head onto a figure and having him Kickbox 8O - my jaw was aching from laughing so much.....

Sat pm: - got up walked around like zombies till 7.00pm then decided to visit a friend for help - excellent night had energy so that was a start

Sun: Penance - in the garden all afternoon doing gardening stuff - covered in scratches and have burnt shoulders

Still have huge doubts about the cross though as i spent yet annother night being pushed from pillar to post

Strange, I thought it wasnt that rammed, not as much as other times. It did get less busy by the end of the night. Thankfully the lightweights started leaving at 4 or so. :D :D

Fri: invited for dinner around at a friend's house, which started pretty tamely, but ended up in drunken dancing mess

Sat: down to FLT, snagged a russ on the way who didn't require too much arm bending to come to the Cross ;). Met up with Ferd + friends and danced happily for most of the night :D although exploding moments were a bit thin on the ground for me. Danced myself into forgetting about the end-of-night cloakroom nightmare and ended up queuing for a half an hour  but my it was such a beautiful morning to be up and about :D

Sun: dragged myself home and straight to the pub for a few liveners :D

Just got my official time from the paper and it was 1 hour and 4 mins. I was hoping to do it in an hour at the most but the sun was very hot and also over 12,000 people did the run so it slows you down trying to get past peeps! I've been training for 8 weeks and just built things up gradually. I went running twice a week and to exercise classes twice a week and did some brisk walking too. Don't worry too much about how long it takes to run just find a pace that suits you. Go out with someone else and if you can keep up a conversation then you are running at a good pace. Do they have 5K races in your area? Having something to train for really gets you motivated. The most I ever ran before the race was 7K so it was a real push for me on Sunday but the crowd cheering you on keeps you going! :)

Sunday: Had a fantastic time at Secretsundaze. First time there, and its the closest Space/DC-10 vibe ive found in London. Barbie, you definitely didnt leave at 7, as I left at quarter past and you were still happily throwing some shapes on the dance floor at the time

:? Time is irrelevant on a Sunday in Babs world  I guess we must have left about an hour after you then.

Secret Sundaze is fab tho isn't it, am glad you enjoyed it :D Same time, same place the Sunday of Bank Holiday wkend then ;)

After homelands 8O

Yeah, why not  I can't think of a better way to spend the Sunday after spending 18 hours dancing in a field

Seriously Rob you should come to one of them, as Ferd said it's like a little Space/DC10 in East London :D

It is :D It's every other Sunday so bank holiday and then the 12th June ;) They send out e-mails with where they're going to be and who's playing, I'll make sure I forward them onto you ;)

So see you and Rachel on the 12th then for a pre-Ibiza warm-up ;)

Headed off to Nottingham straight after work to see rachel, got there about quarter past nine. So just decided to take it easy on friday.

Saturday strolled around Nottingham, had lunch and did shopping. Lovely city. Really really nice place.

Saturday night - Went to a place calle tantra for pre drinks. If this place was in London it would be wickid as an afterparty place. Small, dark, underground, lots of seating and a nice sized dancefloor. During the day we noticed that Norman Jay was in town so went to see him play at Lost weekend. Really good. Nice and soulful, good vibes house music. Great - Left there at 4, when it closed.

Sunday - Got up late and headed into town for a stroll and for something to eat.

Coach home sunday night

A great weekend, Nottingham is a really nice place. Soo good bars, and i was surprised at the amount of known dj's playing there in the up and coming weeks.

No bed there anymore!

Notts is good, altyhough i tend to do the bar scene more.

Bank holiday sunday looks good with Ali Whitehead playin at Browns then on to market bar for Rampling......thats if i'm still standing after 9 hours of MAW in london on the 28th!?!?!?!?!
