Good Monday morning all.

Weekend spent in the Holy Land. Highlights included 25 C weather, seeing Ame play at a club called Barzilay, walking in the footsteps of Christ and touching the Wailing Wall (would have prayed at the Al Aqsa mosque too to cover all my bases, but it was closed to non-Muslims on Saturday!).

Russia was atrocious (congrats to you England fans, and good luck against Croatia!). The defending on Israel's 2nd goal was farcical.

Rude awakening arriving back in Moscow on Sunday... -7 C! Brrr. My plane to the Russian Far East was delayed for 24 hours so got a good nights sleep in my own bed. Woke up 2 hours early this morning :?

Needing a goal with only a few minutes to spare I think their defence can be let off the hook. Goal was desperately needed to qualify, conceeding didn't matter. Although in general Russia were extremely poor against an even worse Israel team. I was amazed at the general lack of passion and heart from the Ruskis. Think about Beckham's one man effort to get his team to qualify and how pumped and up for it he was. I was waiting for Russia to all get like this as they have nothing to lose and everything to come but it never came, same with the fans, they didn't exactly look on edge. Israeli's couldn't really give a toss either I thought, except that some Engish Premiership manager might be shopping but the Israeli fans looked good. Saying you've been to Israel away is a quality thing to be able to say though !

Loved the footy on saturday. Enjoyed the Scotland v Italy game, McFaden had qualification in his left foot and with an open goal but missed!:spank:

Russia game was entertaining too, i was on the edge of my seat all 2nd half and it wasnt even my teams!

Spain breezed through with a quality performance. Honestly, if Iniesta was argentinian / brazilian he'd be talked about everywhere. One of the most underated players in the world... imo ;)

ps: Cocoon was FANTASTIC. Sven was back to his brilliant best (i didnt enjoy him this much in Ibiza in june) only issue was it was a bit too rammed at times, but i guess its to be expected.

When you say Sven was back to himself... does that mean he isn't so la-dee-dah as he was this year? I did enjoy this cocoon this year, but found him to be far to experimental this year in Amnesia!

Exactly. When i saw him in ibiza he was a bit too wierd and wacky. I guess a bit of that is ok but not hours and hours of it.
He just played great tunes on saturday, lots of hands in the air moments :D

I LOVE the weird and wacky stuff! that's what makes me love Cocoon so much!

Ok granted at 8.30am on the Tuesday morning in June when he started playing animal noises lol.... that was a bit tooooo wacky, even for me!

Mammoth weekend!

Fri - Out with my brother having a babies-head-wetting (any excuse!) piss up. Left them around 10 to go to the Tbar for fun and games. Then went onto the Key for Prins Thomas and Lindstrom. Utterly utterly amazing stuff, possibly the perfectest night of music I could have ever wanted to hear that evening. :D:D:D:DI could only describe it as a mix of old and new (nu) dubby/techy disco, mixed with deep house in the vein of Ame et al. The Key was the perfect setting for it too, though the non-lit up dancefloor :spank: nearly bought a tear to my eye. Was in bed by 6ish

Sat - met a few pals for a drink in Kings X, then went off to Halo at the Cross. Awesome night catching up with people, and then proceeded to go to the Key for afters (not so good!) then onto Jaded at AKA which was pretty good. Got re-hijacked, and tried to get into Public life, though apparently it was full, so then went back to a pals house to chill out before braving the cab ride home!8O

Ace fun!

I was very lucky to be able to go. Great adventure. You're spot on about Russia's play. It lacked heart. On the coach ride back to my hotel, the Russian fans I traveled with were blaming no one but their own team (and mumbling something about baseball bats and waiting in the hotel lobby 8O:lol:). Lots of work for Hiddink to do before summer.
