Weekend Reports

Ah, the weekly exercise in memory recovery.

Thursday - arrived in Siberia, played some football with my colleagues, had a long late boozy dinner, crashed.

Friday - Did some work, played some more football, had a long late boozy dinner, went for a walk in the city, crashed

Saturday - Played some football, went for a trip out into the Siberian step to a convent with a famous hot spring, got back downtown just in time to see Chelsea beat Charlton 2-0 :D then off to a couple of live music bars with a local friend.

Sunday - Attended some work functions (two ceremonies and a concert!) then off to a nightclub with a big bunch of colleagues. Got back to the hotel in time for a 30 minute nap before...

Monday - Flew back to Moscow totally wrecked :? Made it to work at 16:00 8O

Where in SIberia were you dude?

Friday - Left work at 1pm to get a superduper Virgin train from Euston up to Liverpool :D I've not been on the tilting trains yet, and boy are they weird! it's like being on a plane, yet on tracks 8O
Arrived in Liverpool at about 4pm, had a nice thai meal at my friends, then headed into town for lots of drinks 8O and some crazy dancing at this little bar that played breaks and D&B (think it was called Beluga's? :? )
Had a brilliant night, bit of a carry on, then into bed at 5am :!:

Saturday - Went into Liverpool town centre for a bit of shopping, had the WORST hangover in the world so felt pretty rough all day :( Had a siesta back at mate's flat then was raring to go for the night out :D
After a few drinks at Hannon's bar (some goddam awful DJ's in there I must say! The worst clanging I've heard in ages  ) we then headed to Chibuku for Jazzy Jeff. Not too impressed with the club I must say, the layout is very warehouse-y, it's quite dark and dingy in there. I found myself looking for the fire exits as soon as I got in, because it honestly looks like a death trap in there!
Jazzy Jeff turned up an hour late  but he did play for an extra 45mins at the end so I spose I'll let him off  Great old skool set, loads of quality tunes i.e House of Pain, Fresh prince etc. He did play about half an hour of lame hiphop but the majority of his set was really good.
Left there at about 4am, back to mate's flat for a quick spritzer and a long sleep :D

Sun - For some reason unbenown to me, my friend had invited her new bloke to stay after Chibuku - and let me tell you, 3 is definately a crowd! They didnt get out of bed til 3.30pm (I'd got up at 11am, hoping to go and see some more of Liverpool) so I was waiting around in her flat on my own, no one to talk to. When they did finally get up, I had to endure a day of being a gooseberry, watching them snog and feel eachother up all day  :x How rude!! You just dont do that if you've got guests do you? Grrr
Was actually quite glad to get the train home at 5pm 8O Only to be delayed for 3.5hours because of a bomb scare at Milton Keynes :x Was supposed to be home at 9pm, didnt end up getting in til about 1am :(
Blagged a day off yesterday so recovered a bit and caught up on some sleep :D

Bec - sounds like a good weekend apart from the last day (how rude of her!) and the journey home.

I woke up on Friday morning after three nights out on the trot and vowed to become teetotal til Ibiza, so I stayed in and watched Vanity Fair (I love a good costume drama) and drank lots of tea  . Made an exemption to my no drinking rule for Saturday night as it was a mate's birthday party. Got to bed about 4.30, thoroughly sozzled and woke up full of renewed zeal for my new teetotal lifestyle. Went to the pub in the afternoon and despite considerable peer pressure, stayed on the soft drinks. Going out tonight to see my little sister do her first singing gig in FLT. :D

Fri: Played down at Inigo with King Roc, Matt Williams and Trophy Twins.. really quiet until about 11 then suddenly it was so rammed there was only room to dance on top of the tables! Great sets from the aforementioned, Trophy Twins were on fire, totally rocked it!

Sat: Soho flat party, great fun! 2 visits from the council, first to turn the music down, then to shot off the tunes at 5am 8O

Sun: Slept til 4, ate pizza, watched legally blonde then back to bed!

That King Roc / Marc Almond tune is pretty cool - Prime Evil...
