Weekend Plans

Trance in the woods for me this weekend! Am “glamping” so please pray for good weather for me 😬

Seeing photos of the site and the amount of water on it following all the rain we’ve had does not fill me with confidence!

Good luck!

Quiet weekend for me until Sunday, then playing for an hour at a mates wedding reception. Trance and clubland classics on vinyl... should be fun!

Fri - Friend's wedding, dry afternoon which meant we could make use if the beautiful outsude areas. Quality day. Stayed over in a pub near by.

Sat - went to use the spa at country house hotel, part of Hilton timeshare portfolio. Met my old school friends for a drink as a lad had flown back from middle east for a funeral 😔 I was burnt out by 10pm, back-doored it

Sunday - bike ride with lad, Sunday lunch in town and visit a friend in hospital to lift her spirits/annoy her for an hour 😁

Weekend report rather than plans but:

Fri - meet eldest for his Arsenal session, as we sat down in our usual pizza spot, I noticed quite a few Robbie Williams t-shirts. Checked in with our Arsenal guy to find session was off due to concert in ths stadium. (We were away last week and didn't recieve the mailout either). Pizza salved dissapointment.

Sat - got a run in before taking kids to my folks in the morning, then took them to Ninja Warrior in the afternoon (the kids not my septuagenarian parents). Watched the England Andorra snoozefest - slept like a dream that night!

Sunday - got another run in, then as missus was taking eldest to meet his mate, youngest joined me on a mission to sort garden at our old house for new tenants. Usual 'had a look at it and not worth paying someone' mo, before 7 hours of work and still not finished. Treated the boy to a pub lunch after as he really put a shift in*. Watched Spain Portugal to see what proper top level international football looks like in the evening.

*Effort level possibly related to my realisation that Nintendo Switch 2 which wasn't out in time for his birthday, so he wanted to wait for it, is significantly more expensive than the NS1 he already has.....

50-50 whether we'll make it over this year. too much reality, too many expenses, not enough income + living with someone with menopause depression puts a different spin on things too

keeping busy though. if anyone's in town, I'm doing a talk+(rare!) dj set in Poble Sec (June 29) + second hand market @ ovella negra (July 6).

*it's sonar week although if you're going, be warned it hasn't been a happy build-up with all the politics (a PR nightmare) and endless people have pulled out

Keeping this Friday chill (she says)

Then Saturday heading into Ibiza for the Pride march, dinner/drinks somewhere then trying to choose between Chinois or Pacha. The Gospel Choir for Flower Power might just win it!

Sunday I'm having the first BBQ of the year at mine. Wayyyy to late for my liking but life has been life-ing.

I’m about the same ratio, trying to justify with constantly increasing prices of everything. Solo trip even looking ridiculously pricey, long gone are the bargains and thats without negotiating spends.

My wife had a very early menopause but when she came through the other side things got a lot easier.

Hope you and your girlfriend are doing OK. Its not going to be the easiest time for either of you. I went in to a surgical menopause, so all kicked in very rapidly.
I didn't think I would, but went on HRT for a bit not long after my operation. It helped loads, especially with the sleep disruption. .
Could have done with a prescription for flights and a hotel in Ibiza along with that though!!

thanks for sharing this. Glad things got better. It's certainly been a real education for me as a bloke! I think earlier generations probably didn't have anything like the same support/awareness either

Friday - Arsenal and pizza with eldest while missus takes the youngest to Gaelic footy]
Saturday - kids are trying out Brazillian Ju Jitsu in morning and then we're off the see the live action version of How to Train your Dragon at the flicks
Sunday - I've already rumbled that my Father's Day Surprise is an all dayer seeing Harry Potter in 2 parts at the theatre. Not a big Potter enthusiast , but the wife and youngest are, and a like a theatre, so should be a good family day out.

No visit to my folks this weekend, bar possibly drop of supplies, as Ma Buckley has pneumonia😟 and Pa Buckley has something ailing him😟, causing worries he won't be able to have his hip op next Friday.

Today a couple of friends from Las Salinas are visiting us, late lunch at our place, then straight to the beach until late.
Tomorrow shopping in Santa Eulalia early morning, beach all day, maybe Portinatx, maybe Benirras, restaurant at night for a romantic dinner, maybe at Xucla.
Saturday lunch here or in ibiza, SJ Dance Party at night.
Sunday hangover.
Monday cleaning and packing... 😭😭😭😭
Tuesday morning ferry to Barcelona... 😭😭😭😭😭

Firstly, I hope it becomes manageable for both of you.

I agree, I had no knowledge before attending some sessions at work around it. There are over 40 symptoms that could indicate a person/family member or colleague is going through perimenopause/menopause, we should be aware and make reasonable adjustments to support. I work with 20+ women and now have a better understanding.

It made me think that I must have been hardwork as my mother went through it and I can not remember it being mentioned at all... I certainly will not have helped!

Change of plan for Saturday, beach day in Cala Nova and lunch there with The most famous bearded man on the island 😎
