That's what I loved about EuroPride in Madrid this past June. Millions (well, estimated 2 million) of people on the streets in support of the parade, the parties and other events, many of them straight and representing every age group.But there is something uplifting (and i dont mean to patronise) to see thousands lining the streets to support pride whilst the protesters just get laughed at.
How far has society come in just our lifetime? Amazing when you think about it. A far cry from the last Pride event I attended in Washington, DC a decade ago, which was pretty much localized to the gay community.
I compare that with the struggle for equal rights for Blacks (specifically in the US), which took a century and then some. Of course, we don't have Black Pride marches (and I wouldn't go anyway
