Weekend Plans

 I told Tom it was at 6am but really it's 6.50am

I think 3am is a perfect time to leave - you can't trust that traffic on the M25 at 3am on a Friday morning

Ha ha!! I thought it was 6!!! He's gonna kill me. Saying that, Ben is always an hour late for everything so we'll be on course

Well everyone know's about the Friday get away 8O

Bloody hell - you are worse than me Lady, I thought I was the only person who dragged people to the airport 3hrs before departure.... 8O 8O 8O

If i had my way I'd be leaving at 5.30am but due to Rach and Lorna's organisational skills we'll be leaving at about 4.30am booo :spank:
I'm always this late and I've never missed a flight yet!!

 3 hours in advance is actually quite good for me   I've arrived at airport before at 6pm for 11pm flight

Phil would have killed me - he gets airport fever, cabin fever, arrivals fever - its pretty safe to say he's not a brilliant traveller - he hates waiting. His ideal travel scenario is, turn up at the airport 10 mins before flight, show your passport on entering the plan, get on the plane, get off the plane.

Personally, I think he needs valium for the whole airport experience - I actually think its all part of the holiday

 Your biggest concern is how you're going to fit 5 people and 4 cases into your little car

I sympathise entirely, flying is grand, I am out like a light as soon as we take off, but airports in the main are horrible places. Soooo much waiting under those horrible artificial lights in what is essentially a shopping centre - except there aren't even any decent shops and everything is overpriced. Nothing to to except eat mediocre, overpriced food and bask in that universal 'airport smell'.
I remember living in Saudi Arabia when I was eight - now they know how to do airports! Huge fountains, trees everywhere, nice and airy, even now I think I would find them tolerable. I can't think of any in Europe that I would say are nice, although Dublin and Amsterdam are less horrific than most others I have been to.

Exactly. 8) I've actually even done that once  (well, to be exact, it was 15 minutes)

Irina is like you people... why people want to spend extra time in the airport is beyond me! :spank:

(in fairness, I have missed a flight... but that was over a decade ago)

We're doing a trial run tomorrow night, if it doesnt work then we're going to put Lorna on a chair the roof like the queen

 I like the idea of a Gollum attached to roof of car bombing round the M25

The only reason why I think it might not all fit in cos a few years ago Tom drove me, Rach and Jamie to airport and we hardly fitted in and that was just 4 people and Rach only had a tiny Gollum bag

I have spent some time in some awful airports (7 hours in Taipei airport .. before they added some renovations) 12 hours in Budapest airport on the way to Cairo..

I'm usually just so anxious to get to my destination, I wish I could take something that would knock me out form the time I leave my house until I arrive.

I usually end up getting there early however, because knowing my luck, they time I leave it, inevitably, something will bad will happen.

But me, Jon and Rach and Lorna are only taking tiny Gollum bags, its only Jamie with a proper case, so we will probably put his in the boot then everyone can hold theirs on their lap. We'll be fine!

Airports are half the fun of any holiday surely!

Even the magazines in WHSmiths seem different and better!
