Weekend Plans..........

Still debilitated with my crap shoulder/neck so no shape throwing this weekend either...... sensible stuff me thinks..... not a bad thing I suppose really.

Ice Packs, anti-inflamatories and Physio - its the new going out I tell ya!!!

Friday: Fly to Stuttgart in the afternoon. Staying with friends.

Saturday: Lunch somewhere during early afternoon and then straight to pub in preparation for Germany v Ireland (first European Championships qualifier). Unfortunately I think we are going to get a right beating as the team is going through a bit of a transition period but Ireland games are always good fun, no matter what the score is. Expecting 20,000-25,000 Irish fans there!! :) 8O

Sunday: Recover from Saturday night and probably a swim and sauna in local indoor water park. Flight home to London at 6pm.

What have you done to your shoulder PL?? Have you been to the doctors, get yourself down there and get him to prescribe you some valium, that's what I did when I had my bad back ;)

No idea Barbie - drove back from Liverpool 2 weekends ago, and when I got home my shoulder and neck were really sore, by the Monday I couldnt sit, turn, move my head, but stupidly went into work  even though I couldnt drive or check my blindspot (Eeek)

Went to the Dr's on the Wed and he gave me some Diamorphine, which unfortunately sends me a bit 8O which is great at the right time but not at 2.00pm in the afternoon... (I am really crap on presc. drugs to be honest   ) It just got worse so didnt go to work and just stood up, lay flat or walked around for the past 6 days, had 3 physio sessions so far but it turns out its Occupational, so another 7 weeks of physio/massage to untrap the nerves and loosen the muscle spasms - its bloody painful - I am walking around like I have a pole up my arse....

On the plus side:-

Have had to readjust my posture (as I was told that my posture was atrocious) - so this makes you look taller and thinner
Lost 4lbs cos I couldnt eat or didnt want to eat
No work in the house cos cant lift anything - bonus!! Generally getting waited on hand and foot.
At work, but no one is giving me much to do - just keep checking that I am alright, and do I need anything.... bigger bonus!!

Not even a 'dance related/going out and doing something stupid' related injury either

Oh no your poor thing, I really feel for you, back and shoulder injuries are the worse things in the world to have  And the worse thing is cos nobody can actually see how bad it is (ie you can't wear a pot on your back as you would a broken leg  ) nobody realises how much pain you're in. Sounds like all you can do is rest  I had to have physiotherapy for months and it's a right pain

Well at least every cloud has a silver lining  ;)

....With this new and improved posture by Christmas, I will be giving the Supermodels a run for their money.

Indeed, and I cringe when I think of the amount of times I have been unhappy with someone for cancelling plans because of a back/neck related injury in the past - I think this is retribution for my uncaring ways

Crikey, we are all creaking wrecks on here! At the start of this year I had physio for months. I was hobbling around like an old man, I used to scream with pain trying to get into the car:oops: It was suggested that the cause for me was sitting hunched over my desk for 12 hours per day on a knackered old chair.

Hope you are feeling better soon, PL. At least you have two sympathetic ears on here.

I can truly feel the positive vibes from your past sufferers....

Mine is from sitting like a hunched old crone and doing a desk job for 20+ years....

However the exercises and the new and improved posture are really helping to be honest, plus the good old 'erbal tabs as pain killers

Over the weekend, Phil's back went really really tight from decorating, the dog's arthritis was pretty bad and my shoulder was fooked - we looked like a whole family who had suffered whiplash...
