Weekend Plans

Fri - Probably nothing, bit of pampering (face packs etc) for weekend
Sat - Shopping in the day, then hair cut (woo!!) Then off into town in the evening -where hopefully Joey Negros putting in an appearance.
Sun - Chill out day
Mon - Haven't a clue, hoping to get whisked away somewhere exciting!

Fri: Supposed to be going out with my boss to a corporate evening at a nice posh country hotel. But, with the way I feel about my job just now I 'll probably start mouthing off, so might not go. Thinking about just leaving work at 5:30 on Friday actually, just need to build up the balls!
Sat: Into town shopping during the day, and apply for more jobs. No plans yet at night, but there's quite a good choice of nights on so we'll see.
Sun: Not sure if I'm off on Monday yet (have kinda avoided being at work this week
), but if I am drinks all day out in a beer garden then out at night

When I got the job my manager ran me through what I'd be doing eg. dealing with clients accounts, devising promotional material and plans etc. Turns out that every contract we have is just cold calling telesales. I spend 90% of my day making cold calls, getting abuse, and getting paid crap for it to!
Have phoned in sick the last two days its so bad. There's only four of us in the company (mother and son directors, me, and a girl I work with)
I was completely miss sold the job, and its actually been making me miserable and even ill..the thought of even going to work is horrible

Oh no you poor thing, so basically they sold you it as a Marketing job and you're just doing crappy sales and cold-calling, I really feel for you, cold- calling is the absolute pits
I'd get out sooner rather than later, you're either a sales person or you're not and if they sold you the job under false pretences then they haven't got a leg to stand on.

We don't have one Marketing client, its a complete joke. We even run a few folks businesses through our office! The only good thing about that is that I've gained experience in personnel logistics (there's hundreds of good jobs up here in that field cause of the oil and gas industry)
I'm actually quite good at sales, but still doesnt deter from the fact I dont enjoy it! I have been speaking to lots of employment agencies up here, and I think its going to be really easy to get another job.
Thing is, I've never even signed a contract yet with my current employer, they've been very sly! Honestly thinking about not going back tomorrow, dont think I can face it, its so demoralising!

That's the thing with cold-calling, I've never done it but know people who have and it is so demoralising, if you think you'll get something else easily just walk
If you put it on your CV in the future you can just make it out that it was a temp job to tide you over and if they ask for references put your last job (the one you were at ages and you liked)

I did calling for a summer once a long long time ago, the summer before uni. Definitely not the kind of work you want to be doing for any length of time.
Hold on as best you can until you find something else (or if you've got a good stash, bail out now!). I'm sure something will come up soon.
Thanks for the good advice guys. I've made a big decision...I'm quitting tomorrow! Money's not really a problem, I can get helped out with that, so I can get by ok.
I've already been put forward today for an interview with Halliburton, and I have more things coming my way already, so fingers crossed.
Just cant bear to go back it got so bad!

That sounds promising. Despite its connection to Dick Cheney, Halliburton's a decent firm to work for going on the experiences of people I've met over the years. If you stick with them you might get to travel a bit as well as they've got ops all over the globe. Good luck!fergie19 said:

Thursday Night: Roy Davis Jr., DJ Ala, Halo and Erick Diaz. It is going to be awesome.
Friday: Very early night for me as I have to get up early on Saturday morning.
Saturday Morning and Afternoon: Day one of my two-day Instructor’s Course with the Surefire Institute. Laguna will build on his foundations of proper use of the flashlight and weapon in a low light environment, use of force techniques, force on force entry situations and building searching technique.
Saturday Evening: Kick back at home and shoot down couple of shots of Jameson to induce early bed time.
Sunday: Day two of the course at Boeing’s facility in Long Beach. This is where we will test our skills by going “hot” against opponents using Simunitions.
All in all it will be a super weekend.
