I'm sure you'll have a good time, even if it's just a week. What area(s) are you going to see?

No, not mentioned it before. We're keeping it a quiet affair.

None of my family even know yet :? We plan to tell them this coming Sunday.

 Are your family inivited?

not sure yet
we are staying at an all-inclusive hotel in Cancun

nothing really planned apart from some sun worshipping and pool time.

i would like to do the whole Dolphin swim thing but we aren't boat people so most of the fishrelated activites are not our thing.

if we have time i'd love to see some of the history of the region, some Mayan (i think thats right) ruins etc

They will be but as we're keeping it simple we don't want many there - just close family and a few friends - if i'd told my mother she would have tried to take over and turn it into something we don't want it to be.

Plus, my younger bro's getting married in September and he's having the whole shebang so don't want to detract everyone from that.

Could be wrong but I think it's Aztec up in that area and Mayan further down around Guatemala. That's definitely on my "things to do" list - visiting some of their temple/pyramid things. Fascinating civilizations the both of them.

Be wary of party-hardy American university students in Cancun!

i think we go at a time that is not so full of students (hopefully)

think you are right on the Aztec fact - luckily they are all dead and cannot sue me

I know! I'm just saying it's not such a big deal if they weren't... keeps things simple (as Drew just said) ;)

I think she was only joking Morbs ;)

TBH, we were in two minds whether to invite my parents at all. We've drifted apart quite a lot recently (long, long story)
