not often i get involved nor start one of these. anyway, this is my first "holiday" in about 3 years, so sorry to be leaving the nuclear family behind, but hey ho i'll take this one for the team.

wed - off to london, see friends

thur - in london, friends, some work stuff and preparing for

fri - fly to berlin to spend the day meeting some friends, doing some work things, sightseeing and then going to watergate (raum/oslo) and panoramabar (cécille) during the night.

sat - fly back to london in the afternoon, see more friends, then off to fabbers for all the cécille gang again, 20:20 crew, robert hood, d'julz, amongst others.

sun - lots of sunday lunch/football watching/perhaps more dancing somewhere.

mon - back to ibiza.

usual suspects let me know what your plans are and would love to see some of you at fabric. let me know. :D:twisted:
 
Halloween Weekend :D
Always a crazy party weekend in Moskva.

Thursday - Monthly piss-up with the foreign journalist corps at a cool little place called Secret Bar

Friday - Opening of a Diane von Furstenberg dress exhibit. Later, possible visits to a club pre-opening (Moda Project), a recently-opened club I've yet to check out (Up&Down), and a party in the parking garage of a shopping mall.

Saturday - Watch football. Get all dressed up. Go to a Halloween pre-party at a friend's penthouse. then swing by a big private Halloween bash some friends are throwing. Then it's over to Arma17 for Circo Loco Halloween w/ Tania Vulcano and Clive Henry :D

Sunday - If anything like last Sunday, die an unpleasant death. :lol:
 
I just posted about something on sunday and realised it's the following week - never mind, hope you have a good stay Grego

fao anyone in the east midlands - we're doing a party at MOOG BAR in Nottingham on friday - free entry all night (the only other entertainment in town that night is Roachford, Andy C or some abba tribute act :D )

saturday - return home - going to a halloween party, although I think the whole concept of halloween is naff beyond words - if any kid tries to glue my door, there'll be bloodshed

Saturday - GF is having a party so all sorts of prepping / cocktail tasting/ possibly collecting soundsystem etc. Party is at her place , could get messy going on previous evidence
Sunday - hopefully not feel as rough as last sunday and not spend over 24hours in bed!

Halloween - otherwise known to 'indigenous' UK folk (fukc you Nick Griffin) as Samhain: a Pagan Celtic tradition which honours our ancestors and allows us to face our own death...the idea being that we rid ourselves of fear, realise that we're not really that important as our egos would have us believe and take on the concept of time as a cyclical/seasonal (not linear) concept.

aka my favourite festival in the ancient calendar.

...and where better to spend it that Brrrighton!

Thousands of people dressed as Zombies walking down to the seafront and behaving very badly. 8)

Followed by a party at a friend's. 8)
 
Friday got drinks after work for friend at works 30th.......going to one of the usual bars in the City.......they have some kind of Halloween themed night, decorations, cocktails etc etc, should be interesting and its payday......

Dont really get trick or treaters as such where we live but my dad did make me laugh by picking up some hollow halloween inspired chocolates in Waitrose....£4.99 for the bag!!! Daylight robbery! 8O:lol:
 
Friday had a mini house party with a few friends drinking n stuff , went to sleep at 7 am in work at 9 am.. hence... Sat night watched X factor half asleep (I've become such a lightweight) and looking at Next catalogue for things for my new house which I'm moving into next week (yippee). Don't know what tomorrow will bring :D

its frikking melbourne cup today & ive got to dress up in a little dress, heels & fascinator 2play in some frikkin marque.... someone please KILL me......:spank: if any drunk bogans come up to me with their heels in their hands asking for bloody akon vs david guetta im seriously going to shove my headfones up their arse.....

Not the weekend, the last two weeks,

Got married at Midland hotel in Manchester - amazing day! Then...

Nairobi

Good – No where near as intimidating as I was led to believe, albeit you don’t want to be about after dark. Hotels and facilities generally very good indeed, had one of my best ever meals at a spot called Tamarind. If your ever in the city GO. Really really interesting national museum.

Bad – Obvious but some of the poverty is a shocking eye opener. 50% of the city lives in a slum to the south – the biggest in Africa - (breeding the dangerous reputation).

Tanzania

Good – Serengeti & Lake Manyana, just amazing – saw all of the ‘big five’ – lions eating zebras, elephants guarding their young etc –ace!. Stayed for two nights in a fixed tent camp in the middle of the plain with no fences – heard a lion what seemed to be just outside the tent. Dry mouth and refused to get out of bed terrified! Anna still taking the p1ss.

Views over the Ngorongora crater defy belief.

Bad – as Nairobi

Dubai

Good – Wow what a crazy place. Hotel was lovely and reasonably priced (the Westin). In no particular order, went up the Burj Dubai (the Sail), for cocktails, 360 bar (out in the sea), another bar on the 72nd floor opposite the tallest building in the world (in the residence hotel)– stunning, took a boat to a thai restaurant, saw ski slopes in shopping centres, waterfalls and ice skating rinks in others, wend on some amazing water park rides, had the best steak of my life, went to a bouncing Ibiza esque bar called Barasti which was superb & on the beach with good tunes & a great atmosphere. Also Buddah Bar very cool indeed.

Investigated the old town – very interesting & none of the hassle you get (but get used to) when travelling in Africa and the Middle East.

Tonnes of Russians about in the more expensive bars taking all the seats. Nice wives tho.

It’s architectural porn for a certain kind of man – an amazing mix up. You can not take it seriously. The scale of the ambition is very very impressive, albeit so many half built towers it is untrue.

Bad – it is an obscene place in many ways. There is no way it will get close to sustainability ever, not with that level of air con. Like I said I felt you need to have your tongue in your cheek slightly when looking at the buildings, particularly the interiors

Madness in terms of ££ just crazy. Two glasses of wine & two steaks = £140. A glass of Chateu Neuf De Pap - £35 (No I didn’t I had a beer). But for some of the buildings you can accept it in a way, the level of interior fit out you would pay to see – others are plain milking it.

As noted in the Lonely Planet, the hotel facilities may be 5* but the service often is not. They have smiles, but no real charm & the scale and the speed that things have been thrown up mean that it all feels a bit disjointed.

I’d recommend for anyone going:

360 bar for sunset
A cocktail in the Burj Dubai
A cocktail at Neos in the Address (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84Vu5bwwn6w) – go when these fountains are on.
Deira and the old town in general.

nice review agentundercover + congratulations! - I went to Kenya as a nipper - wish I could remember it though. Seen amazing family pics and film on the old super 8 reel. have to say Dubai is somewhere that doesn't really appeal. Not sure I could feel comfortable in an artificial city with no "substance" to it - brash capitalism meets islamic law. uh-uh :arrow:

my weekend was alright - went up to Nottingham on friday for first time, played a few tunes at a boss bar called moog, got very drunk, saw some mates, saturday came home, slept, then halloween doo in brixton, went dressed as a randy reverend, played a few more tunes, then sneaked off for late knockings at lowlife at the corsica studios where the theme was "suburban swingers" - caught up with some buddies, then back to the house party > ensuing carnage

revival tune of the night: "dee patten - who's the badman?" dropped this and it caused ABSOLUTE PANDEMONIUM
