Watching the World Cup at Work

What do your companies let you do?? Are you allowed down the pub to skive off or are they killjoys who keep you chained to your desk??

We've just had a massive 6 foot screen installed at our work

lucky

bbc stream from their website if you live in the uk, for those not in the know
been watching this quite a bit recently, although not in work.

i think work are putting one in, but it won't matter much to me cause i've booked all the england games off. no way am i watching england win then getting back to work. i'll be dancing in my garden with the most traditional of english drinks - sangria.

We've got drinks and nibbles in one of our meeting rooms, with the game projected onto a big screen :)

I very very very much doubt we'll be able to watch the games at work

Even though at least one of our clients sponsor the world cup

We'll be watching it on our cinema screen whilst sipping beer on the roof terrace. 8)

We f***ing deserve it though because we've been working our socks off recently.

Our client are sponsors of World Cup so considering a lot of people here have done nothing else but eat sleep and breathe the World Cup for the last 6+ months then the least they can do is provide us with big screens and cold beer and wine

You´d think wouldnt you....that working in a sports magazine....we would be watching the world cup.....

 ....unfortunately....we dont have an aerial connection, let alone a sky one....in our office!

I´ve just proposed we relocate to the bar downstairs for the England games.....and obviously the Spanish ones too....we are in España after all!

all the blokes should be allowed to go to the pub & watch (thats the blokes who have an interest in football out side of the world cup, the same blokes who will watch games other than england during the tournament) and all the women should stay late to allow said blokes to go to the pub!!! ;)

my work has just spend 4k on a massve plasma - looks mightly attractive in reception, I might steal it

i don't think there is a big problem with england group games clashing with work- provding you work office hours of course

the first game is on a sat at 2pm. the second is thursday at 5pm (therefore early dart and to the pub) and the last one kicks off at 8pm

certainly better than 4 years ago when we got beat by brazil at something silly like 8am and then had to work all day in a foul mood!

There's only one game on during work time anyway
England v Trinidad - KO 5pm. OK for me I usually finish about 4!

Of course I'm hoping we'll win our group but if we don't then it will be an early finish on Friday 30th for the 4pm KO. If we win our group we play on Saturday.
The QF's & SF's are all evening KO's.

(I hope I've worked that all out right!)

All the group games are sorted for me - first one in the pub, second one the evening before we go to Ibiza when I'm not at work and then the final one in Ibiza :D The problem comes if England top their group and then their next game is on the Sunday (ie Space day) :?

then you will have to watch one of those games with 33 players ;)

don't worry Sar, just take a radio, tune into the World Service and ask them polietly to turn the music on the terrace down whilst the games on. they'll understand.

Soz I'm meant the QF will be on the Friday 30th if we're runners up of the group stage. If we win our group we play the QF on Sat 1st July.
