Was Ibiza busier or quieter this summer?

has anyone got any figures on this?

particularly interested to see if the traditional clubbing resorts did better or worse this year

and if there was more/less English/German/Italalian/Spanish on the island

I thought it was much quieter this year both in june and august.

Mind you I also think it has got quieter each year.
 
not really. these figures are total passenger arrivals and departures and as most folk fly in and then out again, you have to divide by two to get the number of visitors.

so about 1.5 million air passengers and about .5 million boat passengers gives about the 2 million ish people who holiday here every year.

figures have fallen again this year, british numbers are down again, spanish slightly up, italians slightly up.

the problem with spanish and italian visitors is that they mostly all want to come in august so that the season is further concentrated into the two main months whilst the british and germans who opened and closed ibiza's season are not coming anymore.

you can't really give an opinion on how good the season was just by looking at a packed august island.
 
I thought it was busier this year compared to last year...

Last year in August I remember the bars in San An along the boulevard were closing quite early as they were often quite empty.

Stayed in PDB in Sept last year and it seemed much quieter but I guess that was because there was no Bora Bora at the time. :o(

It's hard to judge really. It was great anyway !!!!

Both D'en Bossa and San An seemed much quieter than last year - I went third week in September both this year and last. Very much like ghost towns in parts. Kind of a depressing feel, although all the discos were packed and that's the main thing.
 
Quieter / busier... what does it matter? (these are just numbers & figures)

As long as Ibiza remains the best vacationing option the world has to offer IMO, that's all i really care!

Bring on 2006 :!: :P
 
My first trip to Ibiza in July, so I can't really compare with the past, but a lot of the bar owners in San An were telling us it was much quieter than normal this year.
