Hi, I've been a member here for ages but just lurk these days and find out whats going on in clubland back in the UK...you guys are a great source of info and entertainment!

My question is this; I'm flying back home for a couple of weeks for Christmas and NY via Antigua with Virgin in the morning..I've never flown long haul with them before usually BA or American Airlines.

They used to have a great reputation for offering a little bit more than the others for the same price but I've heard a few horror stories recently. Any opinions?

Also, whats going on in Bristol and Cardiff over the holidays??

Thanks :D

We've used Virgin for longhaul over the past few years and have always been very happy with them. I can definitely recommend them and would usually choose them (dare I say it) above BA ;)

flew on virgin to HK on an Airbus A360 in economy... had a seat in row 42 or something on the side, and there was funk all legroom :x

flight back was better, hogged 2 seats and was seated in row 60 something and did notice i had a few more inches to spare.

could be worse. imagine flying Ryan Air Long haul?

Virgin only operate a340 airbus & boeing 747 400's dont think theres sucha plane as an a360??

we went virgin economy to st lucia on honeymoon and they were ok, the legroom was alright, but on the way back we sat on the emergency exit which was great. you get 2 decent meals, free drinks ie beers, wines etc!! and the staff aint to bad on the eye either ;)

ive heard premium econmy is better, depends on your budget though
