VIP at Amnesia and Space worth it?

The issue is that VIP culture kills the atmosphere. I have read everyone's reasons for going VIP, but it still doesn't add up to me.

VIP to me is your faux rich who frequent the likes of Ocean Beach Club, they don't go for it and prefer to pose and chat. That isn't what it is about.

I've never been to ocean beach and have no intention of doing either. The point of spending an extra €20 euros for access to a place where you can have a bit of space is precisely that - a bit of space. Not to sit around and spray f***ing cava on people. Don't like having to do it. It's a rip off. What's wrong with wanting to be comfortable though? You go on the dance floor to dance and pop upstairs for a bit of a rest before going back downstairs for a dance again. The problem here is that we shouldn't have to.......we're paying this year not because we think anyone will be impressed but because not doing will make it hard work - not what you go out for really.

It doesn't really matter if it adds up to you does it? Its none of your business how other people spend their money.

It's also not up to you to decide "what it's about"

There are two things on this board that always guarantee a fight: VIP and EDM! Six letters that start WAR....

FFS ive spent an extra 20 euros for balcony access, not to wine an dine with the towie cast. Its hardly living like rod stewart to want abit of a breather from the fully packed out terrace/main room. Im 37 now and have a missus that likes moaning, 20 mins in a packed out crowd, she'll want to go home and ill probably have a seizure haha. Anyway ill probably spend most of the night on the dancefloor with the peasants:D anyways haha.

And I'm not sure what the problem with having a chat is either. When you're a bit mangled it's quite nice to have a bit of a chat.

Ha funny you say that. I've no issue with edm either. Don't necessarly go to edm nights by choice but if I end up in one it's good fun stomping music - by no means a work of art, just good fun. I also have a guilty liking for old happy hardcore as I was kind of brought on it and when you go to a fantasia night (or similar) everyone is rather lovely - which is what going clubbing ought to be about.

That just means you're too busy worrying about what other people are doing instead of enjoying the music.

great discussion. i have never actually been in the vip area (aaaah get the violins out james), but the argument for me that swung it was someone earlier saying that he likes to sit down and doesn't like queuing for a drink - amen to that. if you have the cash, go for it. pablo's comment about the culture of ecstacy was interesting and quite on the button. rave culture has really moved on since then though! ;)

i'm going to cocoon on monday (first time ever) and am trying to organise vip (not the massive 1000s of euros champagne vip section), just access to balcony - at my age i need a break too! lol

Cocoon doesn't offer the VIP tix you can buy though they do have that sushi ticket thing with balcony access. so you'd need a connection to get upstairs.... I was there last week and as long as you hung out right next to the front or back of the terrace room it wasn't too bad. the pics from Music On from last friday which I luckily got talked out of going to make it look way beyond uncomfortably full.

VIP at space was 500 euros and others are around 400 euros at other clubs for two people. If you are planning on drinking, i really think it is worth it because that price covers your entrance fees plus you get a whole bottle between two people which is definitely worth it. Given the prices you pay for drinks at the bar, i do not think these prices are all that bad.

I did chuckle at the 'I'm 37 now and have a missus that likes moaning' - I'll feel you there. I can't wait to get out there next week for a few days nagging. :-)

500 euros? That is a totally different league than I am in.

50 euro entry, 4/5 bottles of beer 60 euros = 110 euros x 2 = 220 euros

That's one expensive sit down:eek:
