Hi all
just back from a lovely trip to the white isle, and everytime we go we wonder what the very old boat is , in the bay of san an, it looks a bit like a pirate ship, but looks like its at least 6o years old,
any idea what the story is behind it
thanks x

does no-one know anything about this, we were curious as we met the owner at the airport, he was on the way to his daughter wedding in Scotland,I know its called abla, and there is a group on facebook called friends of Abla, just didnt know if anyone knew anything about the boat,
We have been invited out to the boat when we go back in September, just didnt want to put our feet in it, and make a booboo when we come back out there x the owner has offered to pick us up from the airport as he has a car, just seemed a strange thing to offer when he,d only just met us, we just didnt want to get ourselves into bother,
but he did seem a genuine friendly man, but we only we spent a few minutes in his company,

thanks that made very interesting reading, it was indeed Eddie that we met at the airport, and he is a lovely guy,
Hes also on my facebook friends list, so hes obviously exactly the way he seemed,

Cant believe it doesnt cost to park your boat in the bay, it would be cheaper than buying a villa :):)

Nice of him. Not really so strange, Heather - I give random people lifts regularly when I drive in Ibiza. When I lived in warmer friendlier climes we'd happily do pick-ups and drop-offs for people visiting without cars. Just a different way of life - he probably thought nothing of making the offer :).

ok, to be honest we,ve done favours for people, like when theyve broken down,n hubbys helped either tow them to a garage for petrol or a part thats needed ,but not sure we,d pick up a stranger in our car,but I suppose when you live in that climate you learn to trust people again,
been back a week now and cant believe its MONTHS till we,re back on the white isle, grrrrrrrr
got 3 short breaks in Britain before that
lake district with family in June
then taking grandkids away for a few days to costa del Skeggy end July
and got a camping holiday at some point,to take one of our grandaughters fishing,

but roll on September :D

That is pretty damn nice of him.

In real life i probably would have thought it was a weird offer but in Ibiza things are different.
