Valentine's Day Rundowns...

Sorry to rub it in single people but I had such a nice evening I wanted to share it with you all:

Well, Jon totally suprised me by taking me ice skating at this ice rink on top of Cardinal Tower! It was this building with lights round it and stuff, it was sooooo nice and we had so much fun skating round lol. Jon was trying to impress me with his backwards skating but Im still a better skater than him ;)
Then we had a lovely romantic walk up the Embankment, past the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, London Eye (which was lit up all red). It was lovely :D Then Jon took me to a restaurant called Stranded in London, which was on the Strand (funnily enough!) They tried fobbing us off with a set Valentines menu but we told them we wanted to order from the proper menu, which they were ok about. Had a really nice meal, starter of mushrooms, mozarella, vegetables, then a main of fillet steak in blue cheese sauce, then profiteroles for afters! All washed down with a few drinks.

What did everyone else get up to?

I worked all day, then went home and made dinner (spicy double cooked pork with cabbage... love chinese).

Then I tried to get my desktop computer to work with my tv tuner card so the missus could watch the Olympics, but it didn't work (the regular TV is broken and new one only arrives this weekend). Then our broadband Internet cut out and after trying to get back online for over an hour I called tech support to find out that our phone station (we have DSL) had overnight repairs going on.

Regular weekday evening... just as it should be 8)
Stupid holiday.

We went out for dinner to a superb restaurant!

I'm glad they didn't get on the valentines theme and kept the prices/menu same as normal.

Overall the ambience and food were amazing, just a shame they messed up our booking so we had to wait over an hour for a table. At least they made up for it by paying for all our drinks 8)

We'd been out for Valentines Dinner on Sunday as I don't like restaurants on Valentines Day cos you often get lumbered with set menu and a 2 hour slot with **** service  so Tom cooked at home for us - scallops, rosemary and herb potatoes, lots of fancy veg, washed down with a bottle of pink champagne.

Very nice indeed and I got a pink suitcase so I was a happy bunny

i had an amazingnight!!!!

had 2 friends round for dinner, spag bol and chocolate tarty type things, drank 4 bottles of wine between the three of us, made it all romantic and we bitched about men and chatted non-stop.

Then hopped into a taxi to tuesday night gay night at love bar, which got absolutely rammed and they had made it all valentinesy with shag tag and a drag queen

Drank more cocktails, danced to cheesy house/kylie/madonna, got given free lube so sprayed it all over this guy who always takes his top off despite it jsut beinga student gay night   and when I started to wipe lube on the pole to annoy people I realised I better go.... and I looked fab in front of the evil man that couldn't be bothered to go on another date with me 8) :D

Still drunk now :D :D :D so SUPER hyperactive in the office. ANd someone had given me a valentines on my desk this morning! (a folded up bit of paper, but that'll do    )

i LOVE drunken single valentines

naddyz... I thought you were with Stuie and I in the anti-V_____D___ brigade. You've disapointed me. Truly.

We don't do Valentines, and actually yesterday it was impossible to celebrate it cos there's a massive conference and all the hotels, restaurants and clubs are full.

Anyway, I felt like cooking something nice and we opened a bottle of white wine and started planning our summer holidays. But that was cos we are worth it, nothing to see with St V. ;)

I know but in the end I just got drunk and didn't care anymore

I'll be miserable again next year, I promise

I had a great one too! The husband and I had a chat and decided it would be ok to do the valentines day thing as long as we were affirming to each other that it had nothing to do with the fact that it was valentines day. ;)

So we went to the Big Chill for a bite to eat and a bottle of wine - I love it there - it's the best place in London to spend quality time with pals.

...Then we went home, had the best round of 'how's your father?' ever  (it really was!) and then nursed the remainder of our trade comedowns by watching the figure skating heats on our posh cinema sized projector.

Couldn't get up this morning though. :(

I caught a little bit of that game, though with inverted colors (trying to watch it through the Internet after the tv tuner experiment failed... until my Internet crashed out :? ).

Went for a nice dinner at $ in Exmouth Market. My gf had the scallops with roast potatoes in garlic butter and I had an endive salad with walnuts, pear slices and blue cheese. Then we shared a perfect medium Chateaubriand with pink peppercorn sauce :)

Rolled home and ate the chocolates I'd bought for her :)
