Sorry, what does it mean sexual harassment?

I know lots of people working with their couple, it's never a problem for the enterprise, imo it's worst for the couple
Ya, I've never liked the idea of couples working together... I think you need some time apart during the day.

In the States, one of the legacies of feminism is that there's a very tight line you can walk in terms of approaching a co-worker (I mean, if you weren't already together when you started working at the same company).

If one person is interested and persistent about it, and the other isn't interested and finds the approaches create a "difficult work environment" then you could have a sexual harassment lawsuit on your hands.

In general, it was a good idea (to keep bosses from promoting/demoting their subordinates based on whether or not they'd sleep with them) that in the end went to far and has created a climate of fear. Mind you, that's mainly in large corporations not so much in small businesses. And, of course, if colleagues get together naturally, there's usually not a problem.

i love valentines and have always done it with little special things rather than anything big and expensive.

this year we're going to porto, portugal, staying in a nice hotel with a seaview and all with only one problem - my bf's mom is coming along

well actually we booked the trip for the 3 of us and only realised last week it coincides with valentines day, doesn't really matter actually. and in finland the whole day is actually about friendship rather than lovers which i quite like :D

It's Saint George day, the tradition (very very very old) says that every girls should get a red rose from their lover, altho now a days you get also roses from bosses, banks, supermarkets, etc.
It's also the anniversary of Cervantes and Shakespeare death (or birth), so another tradition (not that old) says that every boy should get a book from their lover.

It's a very nice day, the streets are full of booths (¿?) selling roses and books, lots of writers sign books in the streets and it's the un-official start of the good weather. One of my fav days of the year :D

BTW, it's a catalan tradition, but I think you do see red roses and lots of books around Spain that day. But it's catalan

Interesting Silvia, in Brazil we celebrate it on June 12th, one day before Saint Anthony of Padua's Day. Saint Anthony is know as the matchmaker saint, so traditionaly, women who couldn't find husbands (aka spinsters) should go to a Church dedicated to Saint Anthony and eat the special bread made by the monks/priest or whatever and ask the saint to find you a lover. One year later, if the girl got a lover she would celebrate it on the 12th, if not, she should try it again on the 13th. It's like you have to give the saint a one year deadline for him to work his charm.

It's funny, because on the 13 th June, you can see people by the hundreds going in and out of Saint Anthony's churches, some of them are so desperate that they climb the stairs on their knees...
