Vagabunds are back?

went to the birthday party yesterday. as predicted by his fans here - WINK was the bomb :) I liked luciano as well this time, yes it's still loop techno but it was a bit more accessible. still - he kept the same loops on for faaar too long. decoration in the mainroom plus showacts was amazing, learned something from elrow there :) luciano also brought his own soundsystem and I while I was sceptical at first it proved fantastic! not so bass-centered as most systems in ibiza. loved the clearity.

erick morillo btw - not for me. yes, he is not playing EDM anymore but the way he plays is still very EDM - meaning he produces a drop every 3-4 minutes, with filters, ending up in terrible white noise destroying your ears. tried it several times, always the same, so predictable. people loved it though - energy was AMAZING! and terrace packed.

I guess you mean 2nd august? just seen this - looks like they'll only do one of the big rooms that night

I know i am not going to pass up Solomun +1 w/Ame on August 30th but there is a small piece of me that is really torn to go to Vagabundos on that date as Luciano and friends in the main room has been looking really amazing. I skipped out last time around as wasnt overly impressed with lineup and Luciano was on the terraza which didnt really appeal to me as much as the main. Consensus seems from what I've heard and read is that the sound and vibe has been great with Luciano in the main.

I share your pain! Solomun & Ame nights at Pacha have been my favourite combination over the past few years (he's probably done the most +1s of anyone). I'd probably do that over Luciano.

Can anyone give me a heads up as to what time to head to this tomorrow, and what time it's usually closing at? Don't wanna go too early for it to be dead and don't wanna get there too late for the same reason!
 
the night is never as successful as they hoped it would be. and it's of course no comparison to we love sundays.
that said, people do comment well on the vagabundos room. luciano still has his fans and the room he plays always has a good crowd, a nice atmosphere and a great decor as well as performers/dancers.

Exactly what I've heard too. But still think there was room for him at Pacha again. I think Solomun+1 / Insane and Luciano could have smashed it for 3 nights a week! I've always been a massive Luciano man through it all.... But he couldn't drag me away from "Lord Solly" this season...
 
agree about the pacha thing, but then again it was probably more attractive with the prospect of teaming up with we love...the deal that then fell through. team vagabundos might have decided otherwise if they'd known beforehand that the joint venture wouldn't come to pass, who knows.

Very true. Vagabundos/We Love would have been a force.

I feel like its winter speculation for next season already....

I have to say that I REALLY enjoyed vagabundos, wasn't sure I would but was pleasantly surprised - even ranked it as a joint best night of my week! Oh and we went along about 2am, probably was about the right time it was busy but got busier.....enjoy, I'm jealous :D:oops:
 
I went to Vagabundos on the 30th of August and I thought it was one of the best nights I had on the island this year. I am a huge fan of Luciano however I wasn't that much impressed by his earlier sets this year (ie BPM, Montreal when he hammered that Nils Frahm three times, Dalt Vila in May ecc). I wasn't particularly sure if I could stomach yet again the same Nils Frahm intro - It's a good tune mind you but he has been playing that intro since Barcelona off Sonar last year.
My fears were quickly allayed by his set's intro- no it wasn't Nils Frahm:), he dropped lots of new tunes and his music was so much changed (for the better). The crowd responded well to the music and it was refreshing to see the unpretentious and generous Sundays Space crowd after the somehow rather disappointing experience at Pacha the night before (ie Bob Sinclair's).
Oh and of course Luciano didn't resist the temptation of playing Nils Frahm yet again but it was more of a teaser being sampled closed to the end of his set :)

Completely un-Ibiza related, but I was in a toy store looking for a water/sand table for my toddler yesterday and they had to go to get one from the warehouse, because 'it's Xmas stock now' :spank:
