V Festival

had fun with the rant but ultimately the serious point is I can't see myself ever going there when there are far more appealing festies out there. Although this summer, am not going anywhere AT ALL which kinda negates my opinions altogether!:lol:

Vwas the first festival I went to, then I went the last time Glasto had a year off but I don't think I would go again. I can't be doing with queuing up to go into the arena, no drinks allowed etc and just don't like the way it's set up plus there's bugger all really to do at night. It just doesn't have that good a vibe about it compared to other festivals I've been to.

been last 4 years and going again next week. love it good piss/mash up, and loads of acts i wanna see this year.

im going, theres a few of us actually, this is a trial run for the missus (festival virgin) and if she likes this then it could pave the way for glasto for future years. Do I like stereophonics.....not overly....how many dance albums have I bought this year? probably 3 or 4, none by faithleless. To be honest the lineup is bit disappointing this year, apart from ladyhawke & elbow im not overly fussed about anyone else. no kasabian, no kings of leon, no foo fighters, no chemical brothers, but hey im sure i'll have a good time, its a day or 2 in the sun, with yer mates getting munted and watching some decent bands........im sure come sat night watching the happy mondays do the classics gods cop, dennis & lois etc, off my face will be top!! 8)

so olly, im getting out there and doing it...rather than sitting at my pc and slagging everything off because its so cool to do so!!

I don't think coating a pretend festival that has a strictly enforced curfew of 11pm is acting cool tbf.

Plus I heard they do sniffer dog patrols of the campsite :lol::lol::eek::eek::eek:

the site is good but the curfew is a joke and the security is the tightest i have ever seen at any festival. Got stopped and searched every time i went back to the campsite during the early hours....

Not sure how true that is....never seen sniffer dogs.

They did tell us to put our BBQs out last year though in the yellow campsite. Apparantly red is more laid back........

I saw Elbow back in March, they were EXCELLENT!! 8)

I'm going.. Weston Park. I haven't been before but am looking forward to it very much despite the negative reviews!! It's obviously commercialised but hey sure it'l be better than doing bugger all over the weekend!

You will have fun no matter what 8)

Never had a bad time over there to be honest.

Music, beer and good company etc can't see what the problem is.

Yes there is a lot of the 'oi oi crowd' but if you are worried about them then you will never leave the house!

As for all the birds in skimpy outfits pretending to be Kate Moss - yes please!!!

So true. I've never had a bad time at V... yes I'm doing different festivals now as I've done V 5 times and am getting a bit bored of it. But so what if it's commercialised and not "cool". Some people are so worried about what's perceived as cool or not they forget just simply how to have a good time!
