Ushuaia Club room vs Stage View question

Hey guys,

I'm about to book my trip for June 2014. Do any of you guys know what the view is like from a regular "Superior Double Room (club)?" Basically I want to know if the balcony has a view of the party/stage. I know they have "Stage View" rooms, but I was wondering if "Stage View" just meant that the room has a better view of the stage. I don't want to book a superior double room (club) and then find out my view is of the beach or of outside the club. I saw a review on here where someone said they had a regular room that was behind the stage and they could see the djs. I'd be happy with that! :-) We've never been to Ibiza and are already excited for the fun and great music!

Thanks!
Tyler

correct if it doesn't say stage view then you are not guaranteed to have one and may be on the back side of one of the buildings with no real view of anything.

FYI a buddy of mine had a room there last month and they got upgraded to free to a view room.

Thanks for the advice. The hotel customer service finally responded to me with the same answer: "the only way to get a stage view is to book a stage view"

So I guess my dilemma now is, do I book the room for 5 nights (their deal right now is 45% off if staying 5 nights or more) on expedia.com for $469 (340 Euros) per night and cross my fingers for a free upgrade or do I just book somewhere else? The stage view room on ushuaia's website is $818 (594 eruos) per night, and that is way too expensive for 5 nights. If I don't get the room upgrade, I'll have to cancel and pay for the first night stay. $469 is just too much for me to pay for a room without a view as I can just stay somewhere else for a quarter of that cost. There are 4 of us going, so I'm going to have to get 2 rooms. If we could all stay in one room and split the cost, I could justify it, but being that we need two rooms...

I know a lot of the advice I will get will be "save your money and stay somewhere else," but to me and my wife being able to see the shows at Ushuaia from the comfort of our room is definitely worth the extra $300 as opposed to staying in an apartment down the street; however, paying an extra ~$700 a night to see the shows from our room is not worth it to us. Our other option is to book one room at $469 and the other at $818 for an average of $643 a night per room, but even that is borderline too much.

Has anyone else on here stayed at Ushuaia and got a free upgrade? If I can figure out how common it is to get a free upgrade, that would help me make a decision.

On a side note, I'm also looking at getting the 2 bedroom residence at Ibiza Rocks House, but am curious if anyone on here has stayed there. I think that would be a completely different experience from Ushuaia. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help!

My advice:

June -> easy to get a free upgrade cause ushuaia is not full

Book with the expedia site..if you do not receive the upgrade you'll go in another hotel

BUT

do you know how many parties are running at ushuaia in june? Do you like them? This is the most important thing imho

Thanks for the advice! You make some good points.

We will be there from around June 27 - Jul 2. I looked at the schedule from this year, and I liked what I saw. My disclaimer is that I am pretty new to EDM as whole, so when I look at the DJ sets at the different venues and nights, I see a list of names and styles of EDM (house, progressive, trance, mainstream, etc), but I don't know what any of it means. The extent of my knowledge is me going on spotify and searching for EDM and listening to other peoples playlists, listening to it on satellite radio when I rent a car that has it, or listening to live sets on soundcloud. My sister is much more in the know with this stuff and will be with us on the trip and she loves the lineup from 2013. Obviously I recognize names like Avicii and Guetta, but right now EDM is a lot like wine for me. When I go to a restaurant I know I'm going to order wine, but when they hand me the list of wines I might as well close my eyes and point. I'll like the wine, but I won't be able to explain why, and I won't know if there was another wine that I would have liked better.

I guess I won't know what parties and how many will be running until the 2014 dates are officially released, but I think what I will do for now is go ahead and book the rooms. I also have never been to Ibiza and have no idea which parties I will like and which I won't. I can cancel for 100% refund up until 24 hours prior to our stay, so I will have plenty of time to change my mind. I posted in the music section explaining how I'm an EDM nube and asked for advice on how to learn about the different styles etc. If you have any advice on that aspect, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks again!

Ok first error leave the island one day before enter opening

Thanks for the heads up.

Half of my wife's family lives in France, her best friend from France is having a wedding on June 21, and my wife's mom works for Air France... What this means? Her mom is flying us from Los Angeles to Europe for free, but we have to fly with her. We also have to leave on the 19th at the latest to be there for the wedding. If we fly out the 19th the latest her mom can stay in France before coming home is July 4, so we have to fly back to LAX from Paris on July 4th. The June 27 - July 2 dates are just guesses of when we'd probably be staying at Ushuaia (we are only going to stay there 5 nights), but those aren't set in stone yet (if possible we will just stay at Jet or something for July 2-4). I realize Enter opening is on the 3rd, so I'm making a push to see if we can't go to it and then fly out of Ibiza in time to get to Paris when we need to be there. I haven't looked at the flights yet to see if that is even possible, and am still waiting for her mom to confirm when we will be leaving Paris to come home. She might tell us we have to be in Paris on the 3rd, and then we will definitely miss it. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Where can I check the dates of the other opening parties? I saw a post on trip advisor where someone said they saw the dates for Enter, but I'm just guessing right now when the other openings are based on what they were this year.
