Ushuaia 2016

As predicted Seth Troxler added.

What's everyone's thoughts on this? On the surface of it, there are some pretty interesting acts on there. Personally would have preferred acts that I think compliment Ushuaia more like Nic and Joris etc but I will be interested to see how Seth and co play at Ushuaia.

I'll happily give this one a miss. the only two artists I'd like to see out of those are damian lazarus and black coffee, but I can see them elsewhere (where they fit the venue much better anyway) and as mentioned elsewhere, I much prefer to chill that day to be ready for space closing the next day.

it's a good line up for sure, but I'm not tempted to go and see the circoloco heads in ushuaïa.

Curious of your general opinion on why they would go after these artists for the closing? I believe CircoLoco closing isnt until the following week so it's not like they are stealing them away for that particular weekend? Just seems strange to go after so many regulars from one party that may not even totally fit that kind of platform.

well...if you check ushuaïa's opening and closing party line ups of the last few years you'll see they had pretty much all the big 'underground' heads playing once over the years... luciano, dice, hawtin, sven, carola, apollonia, sasha, kalkbrenner etc. (plus of course always a few ANTS regulars). every year they had someone else and the headliners this year (seth, tmb etc) haven't played the opening or closing AFAIK.

but why they go for such a line up this time? there are various possible reasons really; either they didn't get any of the really big ones (carola plays the night before, sven plays two nights later etc...) or they just decided to go for that circoloco style line up because it's pretty fashion right now. and, in combination to the just mentioned, maybe they also deliberately decided to splash out a little less on the line up simply because they're aware all the focus will be on the neighbour's party the day after anyway. this is all pure guessing, but I do think that last thought might have played a role.

For the closing is it on the stage the whole event or does it start at the back then move to the stage?

just a curiosity... In case of rain, do events at ushuaia take place normally?

if it rains a little they continue. if it gets really bad and/or thunderstorms they might have to stop. as far as I know that's only happened twice so far.
