[UNVRS] Ibiza 2025

Any reports on Rivo? I like a few of his songs.
Prydz is a closed book for me, I can't bear the amount of phones. I cringe every time I hear Opus now and would happily never hear it again. The Sweet Caroline of EDM (Sorry tiff)

haha no offence for me. I'm strangely more interested in the show itself over the music as a whole, but I do enjoy that song still (for now)

hahaha I love that

Weird timetable, to have the same act playing before and after the main act. Just lazy booking IMO and another thing that makes this less of a party and more a concert. Just a one man show, with a classic support group.
Even superstars like Guetta or Calvin Harris put more effort into the lineup.

Out of curiosity I watched a few clips and whilst that 'eye' visual for instance is all very impressive and everything there is absolutely nothing there audiovisually the Chemical Brothers haven't already been doing for the last 20 years.

Actually a good point... I think it comes down to (and you will hate this), but most of the Chemicals stuff was not captured on film.

Another example is the Pet Shop Boys Dreamworld Tour - that was even heavier on the visuals too.

There were always spectacular audiovisual elements at everything from state of the art Jean Michel Jarre or Pink Floyd concerts to big illegal 90s raves which were really exciting and subversive for kids. The legal festies and more sophisticated rigs took that to a new level and I totally get why a new generation would similarly find this stuff mesmerising. If I was there at that age I would probably film the whole lot too.

Where I think it becomes problematic is in the marketing. When parties charge outrageous prices for something they're claiming is 'revolutionary' when it really isn't, then how you can feel anything other than cynical?

I would have similarly felt more positive had they included old school backrooms to support more underground music and emerging talent, in the same way there used to be chillout spaces. They will make millions banking on the tried and tested and couldn't care less what I think, but it was a golden opportunity missed to do something more daring.

I know it makes no sense in a VIP driven world

But maybe the holosphere being in the middle would have been something to differentiate, logistical nightmare I imagine but 🤷‍♂️

I was at Eric Prydz opening.... sorry but UNVRS is an awful venue 🤣

I have never been somewhere, that large, and it feel so cold and lacking atmosphere.

When I first entered I thought wow, sound system seems very impressive. Then went exploring and thought oh this is cool - as I discovered a small room pumping music behind a less than obvious door.... oh the doors..... you find yourself often having to go through closed doors.

Anyway I went and got 2x vodka redbulls and I watched the girl use an actual measure to make sure it was an exact single shot of vodka - then paid 54 euro. Which I soon forgave because I thought well maybe its worth it if I have a really good night.

Full of anticipations we made our way to the dance floor, which was rammed. And after about 15mins I was bored.

So I went and got another couple of drinks and now I've spent over 100euros. Again an exact 25ml of vodka not a milliliter more

Chilled for a bit then went back to see Eric.

Got bored again after 15 mins

I then stood and looked around at everyone and it was literally like I was at the cinema. No one was dancing. It was incredible. Stood bang still just either steering or recording.

We left at 4am and out of curiosity I asked others leaving with me what they thought. Not one positive thing to say. And there were hundreds waiting for a taxi to go home - huge queue.

UNVRS is akin to feeling very hungry and chosing a McDonalds rather than a mitchilin star restaurant.

It is a tourist trap. You have been warned

I thought the same thing watching the stories. Aside from some big moments, the party looked flat.

And for all this noise about Sphere 2.0, it was the same thing as Sphere 1.0 😂

Thought the visuals were the same ones I’ve seen from him 5 years ago.

Not a ton of dancing, felt like more of a concert than party.

When the other clubs open and there is more competition, atmosphere in there is going to be a problem.

Great to have a balanced view @Life of Rye

However, I do sometimes think on nights like Eric Prydz, or even say when Bicep are say playing Amnesia, or any thing that is really only 2 hours of the night - people are just there for that part, and the rest of the atmosphere can be weird. It also clears out after the main act is on.

Also, Monday in early June maybe not the most up for it crowd?

I just wouldn't bank on it being the time of month...

I went to PIV opening at cova santa the following night and the place was absolutely incredible

You will have a million times more fun and create way more memories at other less popular venues.

Just because something is popular doesn't mean it is better....

UNVRS I'd need to visit for Paradise and then maybe change my mind...

But opening party shots online do not fill me with confidence

Flipping hell, not even a UK double for that money? How utterly miserly. I thought a UK double was the standard in these places now? Fortunately I have no desire to ever see the inside of this place...

On the doors- I would assume that they have so many in an attempt to keep the noise in the building rather than leaking outside?

Yes I think this is the idea, there's doors all over eg you need to open 2 large doors to get to the wild comet , another set of doors to get into the hallway that leads to the dome and then another set of doors that you have to go out to actouly get to it, thinks it's 100% for noise controll, does feel a bit wierd needing to open them but suppose that's the idea.

Waiting to see what they do with Elrow...we have this planned for when we are over in July.

Surely this will be more of a 'party' than a concert like people have said about Prydz? Fewer big names on the line-up, and no fancy visuals at the front....but then I guess people will just film the inflatables, balloons and performers instead! Keeping a close eye on this over the next few weeks...
