I was at Eric Prydz opening.... sorry but UNVRS is an awful venue
I have never been somewhere, that large, and it feel so cold and lacking atmosphere.
When I first entered I thought wow, sound system seems very impressive. Then went exploring and thought oh this is cool - as I discovered a small room pumping music behind a less than obvious door.... oh the doors..... you find yourself often having to go through closed doors.
Anyway I went and got 2x vodka redbulls and I watched the girl use an actual measure to make sure it was an exact single shot of vodka - then paid 54 euro. Which I soon forgave because I thought well maybe its worth it if I have a really good night.
Full of anticipations we made our way to the dance floor, which was rammed. And after about 15mins I was bored.
So I went and got another couple of drinks and now I've spent over 100euros. Again an exact 25ml of vodka not a milliliter more
Chilled for a bit then went back to see Eric.
Got bored again after 15 mins
I then stood and looked around at everyone and it was literally like I was at the cinema. No one was dancing. It was incredible. Stood bang still just either steering or recording.
We left at 4am and out of curiosity I asked others leaving with me what they thought. Not one positive thing to say. And there were hundreds waiting for a taxi to go home - huge queue.
UNVRS is akin to feeling very hungry and chosing a McDonalds rather than a mitchilin star restaurant.
It is a tourist trap. You have been warned
