Well I normally work as a lifeguard in a big outdoor pool (yes, in Scotland) during the summer, but I fancy a change. Starting to look for jobs with marketing agencies up here, but they are few and far between.
Thing is, I can live up here indefinitely for free cause my mum owns property, but I really fancy London.
Any advice chick? 8)

Up here (which is mainly oil industry work), there are larger employers like Shell, BP etc all looking for business graduates. I don't have to pay any rent up here, ever, so want to initially get some capital behind me before I make the move![]()
Really want to get into agency side though (I think, salaries?) by the time I'm say...twenty four.
Any help would be much appreciated Sar![]()
ps-hope my spellings ok, just had ten pints....and a cheeky sniff of poppers![]()
Fergie19 said:The poppers have nearly ran out...is it bad to be taking a sniff by yourself whilst having some Blossom Hill while waiting for your girlfriend?![]()

Good for you Fergmeister! My 2 cents is that depending on the area you want to work in (clothing, oil & gas, etc.) look for a job in that industry. I may be wrong, but like the US I think in UK, also, if you have worked in a certain industry for a while (even though it is a broad field like marketing) it is not that easy to move to other industries.
If all you want is a good start with a reputable company either go for a boutique firm (specializing in marketing) or go for any (and many) oil & gas firms in the Aberdeen area.
The great thing about the Aberdeen area is that a lot of the folks are also working very closely with the Norwegians. At my previous job, I spent my first 3.5/5 years deling with largely N. Sea accounts (Statoil, Aker, AMEC, Shell ExProUK, KBR, TFE, etc.), and I saw a large number of Brits working in Norway. I think it would be a great point on your resume' (aka CV) if you can show that you have dealt with international clients.
