Underground 2008 – win a copy!

i dont think the practise of buying poorly cobbled together MOS compilations should be encouraged at all...

is it though? like dan says, the target audience (now bored of the annual/hed kandi comps) wannabe a bit more cool, so this is perfect for them.
I suppose it depends on target audience. People like us will look and think "what's undeground about that?", but I suppose that wouldn't necessarily turn us off for buying if we like the set of songs. I'm thinking of buying it, so there.

But will it really appeal to the annual/hed kandi crowd? I'm not sure they're looking for something "underground"...

MOS Sessions have at times been good, and I've spoke up about them on here plenty of times when they merit it. But they've had some shockingly bad ones out. I had high hopes for the series, as if MOS were trying to be a bit more respectable again.... but some of the later releases can only be described as offensive!!

Anyway, as I said on another board about this, im sure it will still be one of the best selling dance cds this christmas. well done MOS.

I'd like to add that personally I have no idea why anyone buys compilations or cds - There are a million other dj's that can do the job without the sickly sweet computer mixing or with a tracklist restricted by royalty and audience demands!?

So make me some mixes then, biatch!

(preferably broken up by track, with tracklist. You can put all the MP3 files into one zip file. Thank you in advance ;) )

Maybe it's y'know, because I AM a dj, but I just can't stand compter mixing, or mixes that have clearly gone through a studio compresser to ensure the levels, peaks etc are all uniform.

I can' remember the last cd I deemed worthy enough to put on my iriver (aside from the fabrics, and they don't last two spns!). I always listen to recorded live sets

I do keep meaning to do one - I have abotu 4 different types in my head, though it just consumes my every waking thought too much that I don;t want to commit to doing it yet. You don't know how hard it is!

I guess I'll do a "best of 2007" sometime soon...

Fair enough. We'll wait!

Just make sure you get around to it before Chewie's next one hits the 'net or yours might go unnoticed! ;)
