Really random post but...

Why in the UK do you always have carpet in the bathroom? Is it just a cultural thing or is there any reason?

Thanks

 Do we? 8O
I know what you mean - it seems a bit strange...I'll come up with some reasons and will get back to you.

soaks up puddles better.

i did have (it's now ruined) but only because I haven't re-done the bathroom yet.

it's impractical but warmer on the feet than tiled floors!

our new place has carpet on the bathroom floor. what a stupid idea. it gets wet and soggy. and spattered with pi$$ too ;)

What bothers me is the separate hot and cold water taps in a lot of British bathrooms. What am I supposed to do? Lather up the hands with soap and then swish them back and forth between the two taps to achieve the optimum temperature?? 8O

Have you ever thought about a piece of carpet that you can use in a cold morning and put in the washing machine when it's dirty?

Mine is in pink and it matches with the shower curtine

I just put a towell down when i dropping the kids off at the pool. Tiled floors are more hygenic by far than carpet, but tiles are so cold this time of year.

But for that to be effective, you'd have to stand on it and hop along the floor en route to the shower to avoid contact with the floor*

*pending novelty slippers of course.

:D

cant beat tiles in your bathroom, carpet is just not nice, I have seen some where the carpet goes up the side of the bath 8O scum!

Mark, do you have a problem with dropping the kids in the pool? why on earth do you need a towel down for that, surely you can aim right no?

You just take your slippers or your socks off when you are in that thing (is it a rug?)
