TRADE presents

Tanz Bar… Easter Bank Holiday Weekend.

This Easter Trade takes you back to the early days of the outrageous Tanz Bars in Berlin.

– the illegal and original gay underground dance clubs of the 1930’s…

right back to a time of true decadence and the birth place of extravagant burlesque.

Hidden down dark alleys, these small smoky clubs gave

those on the fringe of society a chance to truly express themselves for the first time.

Cross dressers, both boys/girls and the infamous Marlene Dietrich,

would mingle with the first gigolo rent boys in a mad mixed up world of true outrageousness.

So this Easter join our extravagant, decadent and purely sinful trip

back to the dark underground clubs of 1930’s Berlin…Indulge your hidden urges!

Featuring the fiercely rulin’ Trade DJs:

Fat Tony, Guy Williams, Kelly Marie, Malcolm Duffy,

Pete Wardman, Peter Ward, Rachel Auburn & Tom McMillan.

Plus special guests Trevor Rockliffe & Lisa German.

Percussion and vocals by Joy

Also Introducing Mitzi – your hostess of our intimate,

yet spectacular Burlesque lounge – a piece of pure Trade theatre….

I wonder if they'll wheel out the NEBBs for you!?

You can't beat a good NEBB @ Easter 8O

I've got a problem re Trade tho, Tom isn't really embracing the idea, I thought we'd talked him into it but he said at the wkend that he'd rather go to Beyond 8O Need Brownie ideas to lure him to Trade

Are you going Robder?

I've always found Trade to be a bit trashy to be honest and that text there didn't change my mind!

Far too trashy for a brownie anyway

Noooo! 8O I thought you'd been a bit evasive re: the NEBBs recently!
You can't chose Beyond over Trade! It's just wrong!
Does Tom have decision making powers over the committee then?
Can't we tempt him with a badge? (I'm suspecting not)

Oooh I'll be so cross with Brown Owl if she doesn't come.

I think he thinks Trade might be a bit 8O 8O 8O for him  I've got a couple of weeks to work on him anyway and he's normally very obedient and well behaved  ;)

If all else fails I'm go for the tempting with badge option

...and as for you Stuie!
As Brownie sixer, I may be forced to take extreme action!

(I've got this thing about dirty after hours places at the moment...there's something horrid/charming about being in a club at 14.00 on a Sunday afternoon looking like sh*t and feeling rancid! 8O :D )

Please come brownies! Please come brownies! Please come brownies! Please come brownies! Please come brownies! Please come brownies! Please come brownies! Please come brownies! Please come brownies!

I'm already going out with mates in Maidstone and to be honest Trade isn't my bag!!

You'll have a good one you diiirty afterhours stop out! ;)

I understand Bab's problem, i wouldn't be able to get my straight mates to go! Thats just after them being in the Trade room at Manumission years back and that was 'tame' enough for me to enjoy

What are we talking about here? The music or the atmosphere?
Am I missing something? 8O

I just tend to hang out in the lite lounge because it has a really special atmosphere with live vocalists & percussion etc.
It compliments the club in the same way as the funky room at Pacha - I can't be dealing with all that *bushka bushka* stuff for more than 30 mins at a time...There's only so much a house dolly can cope with after all! ;)

Tom isn't a big fan of Turnmills at the best of times and he thinks Turnmills at 9am on a Sunday morning might send him over the edge 8O

No, i was talking about the atmosphere. The trashyness/sleazyness of it is what i don't really like. Not into hard dance either!

Aaah, get you.
Next time I think of organising a brownie reunion, I'll pick somewhere posh with clean loos and clear escape routes!

Trade = the dirty DC-10 equivalent of London after all. 8O

Babs, I have a suggestion......you robder, jamie etc can kidnap anthony into the middle of all the nastyness in trade and myself and tom can chat about footy at the bar while getting 8O 8O
anthony is keen on trade too but ive never really been a fan so this way, everyone is happy.

As long as you promise you'll look after Tom 8O  ;)

Shall I start getting unnecessarily excited then? :D

I was discussing it with my Keeper last night and he just isn't embracing the idea :? Normally he's very obedient and does what he's told but I'm having to use all my powers of persuasion with this one  ;)

I used to go to Trade at Turnmills quite a bit. In my single days I found it a good place to pick up women on a Sunday morning. True.

Karen and I have been invited along to this on the guestlist :?

Actually quite tempting as I haven't heard Pete Wardman play for years 8)
