Hi guys,

We here at Spotlight are in the process of updating our pages and would like to find out your picks of classic Ibiza tunes for the years 2003, 2004 and 2005.

This is where we're at so far:

http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/night/history_music_i.htm

My memory's a little hazy but here's what I dredged up:

2003

'Gia' - Despina Vandi

Emotional, devastatingly effective, kinda cheesy.

'Satisfaction' - Benny Benassi

The ominpresent robotic vocal signalled the rise of electro on the White Isle.

'Seven Nation Army' - White Stripes

The dancey remixes rocked floors from Space to Privilege.

'He Not In' - Chicken Lips

Actually released in 2002 but a track of gargantuan proportions at Cocoon and elsewhere in 2003.

2004

'Milkshake' - Kelis

Huge the world over, including Pacha's Global Room.

'Flashdance' - Deep Dish

Those opening bars sparked pandemonium island-wide.

'Lola's Theme' - Shapeshifters

Actually I hated this, but I was one of the only ones.

2005

'Body Language' - M.A.N.D.Y.

The minimal king's cross over smash.

'Pump Up The Jam' - Technotronic

Rewired and very popular at the openings in 2005

'Tribulations' - LCD Soundsystem

Anthemic in all the right ways, did the biz at Timo Maas's Dc10 night.

'I Like The Way' – Bodyrockers

So dumb it was almost clever - pure pop.

'Mr Brightside' – The Killers

Indie Tune Sparks Good Times Shocker!

We need five for each year. Put your case and achieve immortality in the form of a byline on Ibiza Spotlight.

Let the arguments begin!

2004

1-michael gray - the weekend (an absolute belter when it first came out - didnt need the extra vocals on the release)
2-soul central - strings of life (the decent mix, think its the martijn ten helden mix)
3-deep dish - Flashdance (i actually prefered the raul rincon mix)
4-a studio - sos (im sure all the electro heads will support me on this one, could argue it brought electro house to the very fore)
5-toss between mylo -drop the pressure and kid creme-doing my own thing. I think i'll go with kid creme because its more my style but mylo was good
