TOP 5 DEFINITIVE RECORDS OF 2005 & WHY?

In no order....

Bush II bush - Piano track
Was astounded by the results this got on the dancefloor the VERY good bit only lasts 30 secs or so IMO but the crowd love it.

Hiroki Esashika - Kazane
Probably the most influential tune on me this year, responsible for so much... ;) ;)

Plump DJs - The rub off
Superb track from the breaks maestros.

Porno
Know will get slated for it as it's bound to hit commercial nothingness soon, but the first time I heard it, it rocked. End of.

Korn - Twisted transistor (Electratech mix)
Mr K at his twisted best, the amount of people I've scared whilst singing this driving down the motorway... :D :D (The remix name was complete co-incidence, honestly)

Special mention goes to,

John Legend - Ordinary people (R&B mix)
The same as above minus the Mr K bit. Almost restored my faith in R&B acts...

Deux - sun rising up balearic-sulfuric best melodic track

Mandy vs. BOOKA SHADE - body language really innovative

pryda - aftermath - track of EVERY ibiza club closin party, smashin!

Trentemoller's mix of Yoshimoto is probably my fave production of his this year (and I won't forget the final half hour that I caught of his DJ set for a long time).

The TWD mix of "Mr Brightside" is, like several have already mentioned, an absolute anthem.

Kerri Chandler's "Bar A Thym" and Quentin Harris's "Let's Be Young" have done the business for me as well.

"Everybody" by Autoboots (Mylo's Engineer) was an awesome lo-fi tech-house cover of Coldcut / Lisa Stansfield's "People Hold On" that nobody seemed to play. I also love cheeky b00tlegs and reworks such as E-Man's "Axel F", which caused a storm when Lawler dropped it at UG in Sheffield.

Also, am I the only person who preferred "The Gift" to "Aftermath"? Prydz's Cirez D and Dirty Funker productions have also been strong, as have the releases from the rest of the Swedish house mafia..

In terms of funky, the Vitamin D remix of Sean Biddle's "Little Cafe" was wicked and Freemasons' "Love On My Mind" was this year's "Lola's Theme" .

Oh, and a little ditty called "Garilka" by some chaps called Mark Sun and Damondo has also been doing the business :) . Tune and a half. Anil and Dale's mix of "Got It" was also good, and "Disco Stew" was another nice track (although I don't have a copy).

i have heard SOOOOOO much about this choon on these forums! i cant wait 2 hear it? any chance of a promo copy when it's pressed? :?

5 tunes that soundtracked my summer in Ibiza, all equally important.

Lifelike & Kris Menace - Discopolis
The ecstasy is totally dripping off this. Needs to be pitched up though

Quentin Harris - Let's Be Young
It's all about that beeping line, monotonous in a fantastic way

The Drill - The Drill
Gorgeous record

Blaze - Most Precious Love
Heard this first on the radio in May, and that break stuck with me the whole summer. Copyright's mix good too

Dirty Rotten DJ's - Start Getting Naked
Massive with the San An workers. Love it, Dean and Gary (they live above the Ship Inn btw :D ) have a bright future

Plus many many many others, the music this year has been awesome. Best in ages.

DAJAE BRIGHTER DAYS (HAJI & EMANUEL MIXES)

Top tune hammered at Bora Bora most days by Gee. Gets the crowd well going.

DANNY HOWELLS & DICK TREVOR FEAT. ERIR BREATHE

Same as above.

CHANEL MY LIFE (HAJI & EMANUEL REMIXES)

Pure magic by the Hed Kandi Lads.

HARD-FI HARD TO BEAT (AXWELL MIX)

One of the anthems at Space this year.Cant get sick of this tune.

JERRY ROPERO & DENIS THE MENACE CORACAO

This is my tune of the year, hammered by Sanchez and everybody else on the island.

LIFELIKE & KRIS MENACE DISCOPOLIS

The build up on this tune still gets the hairs on my arms going.

.

does anyone know how to get in contact with these guys?
I done a mix of this track which Pob (Jules) was playing a few months ago, been trying to get hold of them since !

Not in any particluar order:

1: Coco & Villa- La Noche

A beautiful house record with great spanish guitar with it being up tempo enough to work on the dancefloor. Sanchez played it at Pacha about 7am and it was a moment.

2: Deux - Sun Rising Up

Really didnt like this record before I went to Ibiza in September but heard in Space and Pacha and that unsurprisingly changed my mind.

3: We Deliver - Breathe Again

A great record with nice piano and a strong vocal. Superb.

4: Blaze - Most Precious Love

This record speaks for itself and needs no explanation.

5: Deetron - Miss Suave

Released in 2003 but heard it a couple of times and it made a real impact. A great electro houser which if it doesnt get u moving there is something wrong with u.

6: Nu -Rhythmix- Babylon

This record is summer time for me.

7: Marvin Gaye- Whats Going On?

Another older one but with such a smooth vocal and message in the lyrics its a topper.

a little more

I agree with a lot of the writers above. But speaking about 2005 I have to add something:

CSSK vs Howard Jones "Things can only get better"

This was one of my most loved tracks this year. Found by accident and loved it more everytime I heard it.

Moby "Lift me up" Mylo Remix

Not much to say about this one. Love Mylo!

And finally:

Slitloop "Here on Business" and "When I rock"

Thought my "Big Beat days" were over. Then I heard Annie Nightingale on radio1 from the Berlin Tower. Splitloop played an incredible set and showed me, that Big Beats definetely can still rock and move my ass and put a big fat smile on my face. The titles of the tracks speak for themselves.

Have a nice 2006! Merry Christmas.

5? You must be joking.

1. Yoshimoto - Du What U Du (Trentemoller remix)*
Absolute stormer, and will get no arguements on here. The sheer thump of it when it comes in from the first and second breaks. I simply cannot not do the "couch dance" when it comes on.

Awesome Tune:twisted:
