we've just met with space to organise a "spotlight exclusive"

The Prize:

the prize is a 45 minute set from midnight until 00:45 for BE on wednesday 5th september in the Terrazza. you'll be playing before mark knight, sister bliss and sharam. your name will be on all posters and flyers as well as in our site and theirs (and pretty much everyone else who publishes ibiza listings!)

Ibiza Spotlight will also pay for the winner + 1 guest to stay at the jet apartment complex for 2 nights - wednesday 5th and thursday 6th september.

all you have to do is pay for flights.

How to Enter:

upload a 45 minute set to soundcloud or mixcloud and post the link as a reply to this thread. one set/post per dj, only soundcloud and mixcloud will be accepted. anyone who multiple posts or uploads more than one set is automatically disqualified.

only forum members can enter.

the competition closes on tuesday 31st july.

Important:

  • you need to play on CDJs (or Vinyl). there are no exceptions to this - no DVS i'm afraid. space have CDJ2000s.
  • it's a warm up set. the big names are on after you, so don't play banging trance.
  • take a look at the season line-ups for BE so you can see what type of music is played and which direction you should be going in.

Judging:

the spotlight team will be judging the mixes, choosing the best 3 and sending them to space for final approval. we are also going to open another thread for comments about the sets from other members, which we shall take into consideration.

i think you'll agree this is an amazing opportunity to play at one of the most important clubs in the whole history of EDM.

hey my names Michael Bittles: My Bio

A dj/producer from Belfast who started djing at the tender age of 16 bonking off school to spend time on his beloved decks, soon after he began to show further interest in the arts of dance music starting to get involved in productions in the harder styles with friend an infusion audios finist Dave Allen. At 20 Michael helped run a small event in Belfast playing along side djs such as Ran-d, D4RK, Kidd Kaos, Dark by Design to name a few. This experience was vital as it led to residencies with Concept, and a Summer residency in Precious in Belfasts Odyssey Arena. Now, concentrating on his productions in techno an techhouse, Michael has managed to secure 2 releases on Infusion Audio bringin a different genre to their already, established label. At 23 this young dj has a future in the business....

Hey let me introduce myself, My name is Richard Wainwright and I am 18 years old and my passion is house music. I live breathe and think house music. it was introduced to me by my brother so i got in to house music at a very early age (14) and I've been djing since i was 15. It has always been my dream to play in a club or in ibiza and a festival of course, I have been fortunate enough to warm up for some local djs at Venus the nightclub, the venue holds around 1000 people (i think) so i am used to playing to a big crowd. On my 18th birthday I ran down to my nearest baa bar and asked to run my own party, I have been running a party in the party room every 2 months since then and every night has or nearly sold out, around 140 people. I will confess that I do not produce or make my own music yet, however this is something I will be looking to do in the summer. I am currently studying for my A levels. I am studying Maths, Electronics and computing (I'm a firm believer in WORK HARD PLAY HARDER) and these subjects have helped me know end especially electronics because now i have a greater understanding of what i am doing to the actual songs so i know how i can push them to the limits and get the most out of a song..House music for me can be split in to 2 categories Big Room and Vocal progressive. I have an equal love for both, however if I hard to chose i would chose the vocal progressive.8)

I believe I have rambled on enough now, so now ill let the music show you what I'm about....

Hey my name is Aaron Lewis , I'm 23 and live in Middlesbrough in the U.k. I've been Dj'ing for the past 9 or 10 years and been producing music for just over a year. I generally mix Deep or Tech House at events but i also like to mix Progressive in my spare time or whenever a promoter asks me to. For this particular demo i have chosen Tech House which i thought was more suited for the competition, my main inspirations are Stefano Noferini , UMEK and of course Mark Knight so it would be an honor to play along side any of them ! I upload mixes on a regular monthly basis on my web pages and this particular set is cut from my June Tech House mix, of course the title specifically says enter a 45 minute set you can listen to the rest of it if you have the time to go over to my Mixcloud page. Also which I'd like to add is that I am on holiday in Ibiza for 2 weeks from 26th August so this would work out brilliant if I was to win ! My name Is Mickhel AKA DJ GL0BAL born in england Uk boy long story short I am an up and coming DJ I willl going to one of the top schools for electronic music production this fall, If I am not touring Check out my mix and my other mix's every mix on my sound clould I make is done live, no editing unless its a demo.

My last gig was couple days ago I opened for Avicii infront of a couple thousand people in BC canada, Was a great experience, got alot of exposure and press.
