I'm not into this low carb crap - I love my carbs! mmmm could really eat some mcdonalds fries now.

Is everyone into the low carb thing then?

I havent cut them out completely - that's daft, but I have stopped eating them after a certain time of day, when its harder to digest etc, I have felt so much fitter since Jan, granted i have a few off days but i work or the 80/20 theory 80% of the time I stick to it - 20% can fall off the wagon (ie lager on a weekend when out, or if I am going clubbing I will eat carbs before I go out (but organic or wholegrain/brown pasta/rice etc)

I feel fitter, less sluggish and tired, skin is better, weight is down, body looks better for it.... its working....

I'm guessing Speed? :?

You nailed it! ;)

Although most people regard this as a street drug it was originally studied (and still used) as an appetite suppressant.

It was first synthesized in 1887 by the German Chemist L. Edeleano, which he called "phenylisopropylamine."

Amphetamine and its derivatives (amphetamines) are part of a broader class of compounds called phenethylamines.

I lost about 10 kg in 11 days in Ibiza last summer actually.. nothing to do with Amphetamine Sulphate of course! 8O

Co-incidently, I've been getting into stir-fry's in the last couple of weeks. Couldn't go to the gym though, tried that once years ago, just find it boring. However, I go out running a lot. Been out every day in the last week doing between 5 and 8 miles. I'm lucky to be living right next to the countryside and have loads of fields, woods and moorland around me. Today I did 6 miles in the woods and got really up to the eyes in mud and thoroughly enjoyed it. Saw loads of rabbits and a deer today. :P

Anybody want a free Wok? Got one up my T-shirt I'm trying to get rid of.

Basically all I eat are carbohydrates. I still loose weight. One difference is that I get off my ass and exersize unlike 90% of my countrymen.

Veggie curry's cooked from scratch are great too. Not a single scrap of fat in em. Really easy to do too. I never thought i'd eat anything veggie till my other half's mom cooked it for me, now I eat it a couple of times a week.

Havent lost any weight mind, but thats prolly down to the comfort/boredom eating i'm doing lately

funny how Atkins seem to work on people! its quite scary but it does!!!

It does work if done properly, but unfortunately 90% of people trying the diet don't and suffer the consequences.

hmm i find the fruit thing impossible. and eggs just tire me after 3 days..
i like the zone diet, because you can have a little of everything.
but i have cut out all bad carbs and lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks. so it works

what do they do wrong then?

A common mistake is to cut out Breads/Pot's/Pasta/Rice etc but don't replace it with sufficient calories from other food sources - in other words they end up undereating.

Following Atkins requires eating large volumes of fruit and veg (preferably organic) which can work out expensive.

However, most people believe Atkins is all about low carbs which is completely wrong. It's the type of foods the carbs come from which is important.

Don't forget protein foods too i.e. chicken/fish etc - this is very important to avoid losing muscle mass/tone whilst cutting down calories.

Eggs and milk aren't so great. Soya milk is better.
