Clubbing Question: I've never been on the island for opening parties, this summer I'll be there for a couple of opening parties..

I arrive on June 30th -- Timo Mass Opening Party at DC 10 ; what kind of music does Timo Mass play? How do you compare Timo Mass to Erick Morillo at Subliminal?

July 1st: I'm considering PvD at Cream or Yoshitoshi Opening Party at Pacha with Deep Dish & Behrouz -- how has Deep Dish been playing over the past couple of months? I've been to Cream for the past 3 years but it's usually very crowded --PvD is awesome but his set is only 3-4 hours.

July 5th: I might give Manumission another chance -- hated it the one time I went, but it's an opening party...

Premile,

Timo Maas plays quite similar to the residents at DC-10. He plays everything from tough prog, tech house, techno, tough breaks all with a dash of funk and even trance. He has alot of variety. My best description of him is that he is a mix between satoshi tomeii, carl cox and steve lawler. He plays quite tough.

He has much more variety than Morillo. Morillo is pretty much vocal, funky house, with a bit of deep house thrown in.

Deep Dish.......not really my cup of tea. They can play some great sets, but they can also play some very boring stuff. If you like your stuff very deep, dark ad chuggy you will like them.

scousejohn & vinylgroover; thanks for your response. I'm still waiting for a few more comments before I decide...

I saw Timo Maas at a party in the states, and Deep Dish has a residency in my home town. Timo Ripped it up and has quite a few goood original tracks. Deep Dish is exactly like Vinylgroover describes them. I have seen them play both good and bad sets.

Premile,

timo mass is how everyone describes him-i.e mixture of techno, trance, techhouse, breaks, quite tough and pumping...could be a great night, but i don't know how busy as it is a new night etc...

as for PVD v Deep dish, i would choose deep dish every time...PVD will be 'hands in the air' trance, whereas deep dish, will be deep, funky, but without being boring..they also have Behrouz playing who often plays at circo loco at DC10....deep dish are kinds like tenaglia in that it's all about longer, more fullfilling, deeper sets, rather than a couple of hours of anthems.....

will be there at the same time, enjoy yourself!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm usually a big PvD fan at Cream but I remember it was very crowded last summer and I wasn't really feeling the crowd. PvD's sets are always right on, but only 3-4 hours.
Last summer my favourite party was Steve Lawler at Space followed by Josh Wink & Erick Morrillo at Pacha. Oh man -- I'm so looking forward to this vacation 8)
