Has anyone read the Time magazine Persons of the Year material yet?
Bill & Melinda Gates and Bono were chosen as a result of their joint efforts to get donors and governments more involved in improving public health and reduce poorer nation's debt loads.
The articles are a bit superficial, as is often the case in magazines like Time, but still good reading. There's also a great story on the Clinton-Bush Sr. partnership to raise money for tsuname and hurricane Katrina relief.
Reading stuff like this makes me really want to fast-forward to the point in life where I'll be able to "do a Bono" (or if I'm really lucky, a Gates
). He's really far beyond the typical star-meets-cause situation.
