One of my sister's co-worker told me that normally east of the Mississippi BBQ includes pork ribs and pork chops and west of the Mississippi is beef based? Is that true?

I'm not sure about out West, but in the East it's definitely a pork-based ritual. A good barbecue feast will include ribs and one more more of chops, sausage, and some chicken for good measure. Beef steak is not ruled out, however you'd have that straight-up off the grill without sauce.

I'm from the east and we do chicken, beef, brisket,ribs, and steaks. For the beef the sauce is on the side for those who like wet BBQ. HMMMMMMMMMMM

I love corned beef hash, mine has to be slightly burnt as well and yes lots of HP sauce!
