The Streets

and also can i please just say again how much i love the new album
if you liked original pirate material you are going to LOVE this
and if you didnt like that then you should still give it a try
you need to listen to it all the way through to understand the story

I've got the new album too and I'm far from convinced...I know its original stuff and thats good...
It was original, but is it now? He seems to be doing the same sort of stuff now.
Yet another artist who used dance music to gain some credibility and recognition and then just makes pop and rock records.

Get a bunch of illiterate wankrs to TALK over some music and you have a hit! f*** sake, people will buy anything...

This guy tells stories over a beat and he's brilliant? How about Mutabaruka, Pato Banton and Dizzy Rascal? It's like when yanks accept Elvis as the king of rock & roll...

... ..revised my opinion of this after a few listens and a few smokes...it did grow on me and a couple of the tracks are very catchy

IMO the streets are brilliant.
Original Pirate Material was a work of art- yea, you could say he's just 'telling a story over a beat' but thats like my mum saying
'dance music all sounds the same!'.
He is not promoting that loutish, 'chav-ish' lifestyle- it's a social comment!
Like the tracks 'geezers need excitement' and OMG weak become heroes??!! surely all of us can identify with the lyrics?!
Masterfull.
Perhaps if you think its just a guy telling a story you should look a little deeper?

There is even a remix to fit, I can't believe this song is so fragging huge! 8O

there several remixes
its gonna be the choon of the summer

You're lucky that bands like The Streets perform the UK choon of the summer.

In Spain the so called choons of every summer are extremely shitty cheesy latin songs (imagine Enrique Iglesias or Ricky Martin but even worse). It's so disgusting!
