The Server

What is going on? It's getting worse every day. I wonder if anything is being done about it, or if its part of the plan to get rid of us!

phpbb was a bit bland, but at least it worked and could cope with the volume of traffic. surely any newbies who try and view the site whilst the server is too busy (and it's almost 50/50!) won't bother to keep trying?

I am glad its not just me - I assumed it was our server at work that was f**ing around - it happened to me 6 times yesterday - its a tad annoying like....

I just wrote an explanation of why I don't think it's vBulletin that's at fault, and that there could be other issues, but I lost the whole goddam thing to a server busy notice. Screw it.

like many above, i clicked on the thread and got the pi$$y, mariquita, oueh, eoug, ouh, ah, ah ,ah ah aha ahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh *has tizzy fit and stamps feet* message saying the server was too busy. how ironic:x !!

i and many others work our butts off to make sure our sites function all day every day. our main business is not this forum. we are currently in our busiest time of year, and we do not have the resources to run everything as perfectly as we would like.

i am working on a solution for the forums. please be patient.

that's all we wanted to know! previously when the server prob has been mentioned it received no comment from the management!

isn't there a lo-fi/text only skin you can switch to in the meantime?

We dont pay anything to use this site so we dont really have the right to whinge about the server, it isnt as though we're being ripped off or anything is it? I know its annoying getting that message coming up all the time, but I use other boards with the same server and they work fine, I guess its just a matter of fine tuning all the IT stuff!

i don't really mean what i said - you all support the board by being here. it is just that i have been very frustrated at not finding the time to discover why the board is so slow - believe me we have been just as, if not more frustrated than you.

fingers crossed it's fixed now!

p.s. it was actually the number of posts since last visit function - took too long to calculate for all of you on every page.
