The rising price of holidays

For anyone who hasn't booked their holiday- some very cheap deals can be found on First Choice website. I booked last week in June (from 25th) for 4 people, at just £150 each. However, get in quick as it goes up more or less daily. i think the holiday i booked is now £195, which is still cheap though.
By the way, I am not a rep for First Choice, its just the best deals i could find/

we've booked just flight & hotel separately

it works out £170 cheaper to do that (even without a cheapo flight as Glasgow doesn't do them) than to book the package deal for the same hotel, same dates but WORSE flights!

Normally we do a package as it workks out cheaper but this year it's so much cheaper to book flights and accommodation individually.

And we get four nights in Barcelona thrown in!

For anyone in the Midlands, www.thomsonfly.co.uk are doing flights from Coventry to Ibiza for £6.49 each way! (Not including taxes, with taxes it comes to about £40 each - still really good!)
The flight times aren't great but if you're not bothered about flying over night then this is perfect for you! ;)

you dont know about expensive till you try booking as an american!

You are so right - we have been trying to get a friend of ours to come to Ibiza with us for a few years now - he lives in San Francisco and it works out cheaper for him to come back to the UK and fly over for a 2 week holiday then get a flight back to SF - its madness..... mind you he has just bought a nice apartment there so that's his finances stuffed for a few years!!!

to get these prices as low as possible you have to cut out everything- creature comforts and that sort of stuff, but- lets face it, who gives a shit it you miss out on in-flight 'meals'?
The holiday i booked included flights and accommodation for 1 week at end of June (i.e not in the high season yet)
No in flight meals
Not seated together
Flight is from Gatwick
Hotel is 3* in San An (all you'd need)
And most importantly, no £1.60 donation to First choice.

But basically, its all about dates. 1 day either side of mine made the price go up by about £200-300.

You guys are all lucky that you can fly from a London airport. We have a severely limited choice up here, and the price increases substantially

Im from Paisley, just outside Glasgow, and booked a package which cost me £465! Excellent flight times and the peak season - last week in july - 1st week in august. Thought that was pretty good?!

I know it adds like a day onto your journey but would it be possible to get the bus/ trein down to london and fly from there? Sometimes i get the bus back home from Lufbra and it costs like £5 or something ridiculos on national express. The journey is a bit of a bitch because it takes so long but i can sleep anywhere so i just sleep the whole way down so i dont notice the time and have saved myself a lot of money in the proccess. Just an option, could save a bit of money.

Hi sexy-lady.......i booked with Thomson. We were quite lucky when booking it as the manager was at a table behind us and as about 7 of us went in to book he saw us/heard us and started looking for prices and ended up doing us a good deal. Quite chuffed. :P
