The Rise in "upmarket" Hotels

Was in PDB for the first time in 16 years recently and I couldn't believe how much it had changed. Back then it was a nice mix of families, clubbers and a few oddballs from various nationalities but now it seems restricted to 20-something trendys on steroids! The days of the Bullbar & the Konga Club seem a long time ago indeed. It's still a good place to visit but I don't have the desire to pay inflated prices for the the privilege of staying there. There's much more beautiful parts of the island too in my opinion!
 
I stayed in La Noria in 2011, that was very cheap, and not too bad, clean and simple, not sure if it's changed in the last couple of years though
 
Had it as a facebook profile pic as well and had to change it as people were going to de friend me. Not a good one of me I admit :lol:
