did it ever have some significant purpose other that just look nice? i mean, was it ever once legal to go in and have a skinny dip?

I bet, didnt someone drown? or was that just a rumor? would have been cool if it was pos´to go in! as for now, manu is just like a tamed circus with no extras ! and its just...well (im always going anway) needs soemthing new

I know one guy who got very drunk at Manumission last September and jumped in the pool. Twice. Then he got thrown out of the club all wet, without his clothes and stuff. He walked to the car park and some big Dj person had felt sorry for him, picked him up and driven him to his hotel. :lol:

did you know..............(another jj story coming) that manumission started @ a club in manchester called "equinox" which was a gay club, but the night had a very mixed crowd. It was a kind of Friday night "carry-on" from a bar called "athenaeum" which in it's day was "the place" to go, very ornate, with marble & corinthian pillars, trannies dancing on podiums etc....now it's a shithole doing £1 pints. Anyway the night became more popular and then attracted the usual unwanted attention from those lovely chaps from Salford and it moved out to Ibiza!!!!

anyway....I digress :oops:

Yes I did know that.

I worked in Athenaeum and Equinox, and even knew the trannies in question, Coco and Angel...

I started there around '94 - '95

Still go back up to Sackville Street when times are tough though...! 8O :lol: :lol:

I'm a southerner, but I lived there for ten years in various places from Salford to Didsbury......





....and I spent a bit of time in RT too... 8O 8)
