Marty's revelation about Kev on last nights episode was side splitting, as was the local pub ave'ing it to Rick Astley - Never gonna give you up.

it was funny last night, never really got in to it but last night was good :D

Not sure what you'll make of Phoenix Nights Sil, I think the nearer you come from geographically to Bolton the funnier it is. Have you ever been to a Working Men's Club?

Probably if it's too local I wouldn't understand a word, but most bbc comedies have been on the regional tv several times, and always very successfull, while in the rest of Spain the Young Ones only lasted for a couple of chapters :D

come on!! this is sylvia we're talking about here??? :?

Tongue partially in cheek, but also you never know what people have done. Liv Tyler's husband comes from Headingley in Leeds, and when they come over to visit they all go to the local WMC, where she is a member. So :P

What's a working men's club?
These typical british clubs where everybody is very posh and wears ties and women are not allowed and gentlemen discuss horses and finances while having a schotch?

 That is so very nearly right and yet so very wrong! They used to be men-only but times have moved on. Horses are discussed, but only regarding their starting prices. And posh they're not, kind of the opposite. They're clubs that were formed by the local working-class people to get benefits through buying bulk on things like beer, and to provide entertainment and respite for the family wage-earner after a hard week down t'pit.

A pub? 8O

Like a pub, but with cheaper drinks and you have to be a member (or a guest). And more seventies' wallpaper. They generally smell of dust and tobacco smoke (from roll-ups not cigarettes). Anything white is now cream. They also have stages for the live entertainment (the 'turn') who usually consists of 'Exciting Boy/Girl Duo', 'Sensational Solo Singer' or 'Cheeky Comic' (I used to do gigs at these places  ).

Little Britain is my favorite although I didn't like it at first as I thought some of the sketches went to far (guy who fancied the grandma made me feel particularly uncomfortable :( ) Now I have watched it more though I really like it, good also to watch the behind the scenes on BBC Active on BBC3 as it gives a bit more context to the characters.

Office - Didn't laugh just cringed

Phoenix nights - only watched after we had one of them on our sales conference last year as after dinner comic (not Peter Kay) watched it a few times since but it doesn't get repeated so much at the moment.

Best comedy of all time for me though is Seinfeld

That sketch is quite wrong, as is bitty! But most of the sketches have a bit of a deeper message that what you obviously see on the screen.
