The Ibiza Weekender - ITV2

I find myself watching on catch-up each week despite finding the premise detestable, and all of the reoccurring / one-off characters dislikeable.

I think so! Sadly they visitied San Antonio last night and were even in Itaca, wish they would stay through the other side.

The Harbour Club at Talamanca beach. (I don't think they knew where they were though)
The only good thing about the programme, well the episode Ive watched, was guessing where they were. Only walked down Talamanca beach once and guessed it correctly. What's it like there, nice for a meal/pre drink for Ibiza town or destino? I was thinking of going back there this year

Yes, too pricey for me, not my sort of place at all...
Also, don't like that they've put those beds on the beach there, too narrow!

Sorry should have been clearer, I meant what is the beach and bars in general like at Talamanca-not the actual Harbour club. I've only walked along it when walking from Bossa to Destino two years ago.

I personally really like Talamanca. Nice sandy beach, always a chilled vibe. A few cool and very down to earth places such as bar flotante and hostal talamanca which make a huge contrast to the harbour club. plus the beach is always lively (even in winter when it's sunny), but never too crowded. there is one downside though, the water is very shallow in the whole bay and no currents, which sometimes results in not having the best water quality sadly.

Very Towiesque.

"Let's hardly drink/get drunk easily and go after the opposite sex in a way that is both cringeworthy and disturbing"

Hardly an accurate representation of the Island but should we be surprised?

Watched the latest episode last night. Maybe I'm getting old but I don't recall much "pulling" on my visits to ibiza, basically this programme could be set anywhere in the med and doesn't capture why we all go, the music.

There doesn't seem to any difference between this one and the Magaluf one. Actually I think you seen more of their surroundings in the Maga one.

At a guess this might be because they had more joy getting permission to film at various location in Magaluf compared to Ibiza.

Honnor

Agree & disagree – the TV program is just another shoddy portrayal of Brits behaving badly that could be set anywhere - but the reason people go to Ibiza isn’t just for the music its because it is a small beautiful Island with stunning beaches & countryside – an excellent variety of restaurants & a capital city that is cosmopolitan, vibrant & entertaining.

From Wayne Lineker on Twitter:
"Watching Ibiza Weekender and very worried it will give the wrong impression"
"I was approached by Ibiza Weekender to ask to film in ocean beach. You can guess my answer #itaintmagaluf"

lol Coming from Wayne Lineker that smacks of hypocrisy on the highest level!

I actually think its a great show and look forward to it every week. Reason being it takes me back to my youth. While we can all sit here and say its not a true reflection of ibiza as we know it i can assure you if you was 18 it would be pretty spot on. Yes we have all got older and matured into liking a certain sound, one that we follow with great interest and sit eagerly awaiting line ups every year. But it wasnt always like that for us. A ngt out at 18 is not about standing facing a dj on mass and shuffling from one foot to the other hand in the air getting lost in the music. This show is a bit of fun showing what late teens are all about. Get out drink as much as you can and go out on the pull. Im not ashamed to say this was exactly what i was like in my younger party days. I couldnt think of anything more fun at 18 than running up and down the strip in and out of bars and trying to pull girls. There is plenty of time to mature and become one of us sitting on the net to talk about if plex deserves his own ngt or not.

I watch this every week and get lost in the memories of my youth with a big smile on my face. Good luck to these kids i say. I dont care where they do it ibiza, magaluf or blackpool.

And if anyone thinks that this programme with its drinking and chasing girls/boys is not a true reflection of ibiza i encourage you to try a ngt in the west end. It most certainly goes on. If im honest i cant believe there isnt more sex. These boys need to learn how to close a deal!
