The first to confront its Islamic terrorist threat was France, home to Europe’s largest Muslim community, which faced a series of bomb attacks in Paris in the 1980s and 1990s. Most of France’s five million Muslims are Arabs from its former colonies in North Africa, particularly Algeria. The attacks on Paris were seen as revenge both for the past colonisation of Algeria and for supporting the present military regime.

The French Government clamped down on radical Islam in a way that no other country has. No mosque or Islamic prayer hall is off limits to police. Imams preaching hate are regularly deported. France stopped giving asylum to Islamic extremists wanted in their home country, and was disgusted when many of them were given refuge in Britain. As a result of France’s draconian anti-terror laws, the country is thought to be comparatively free of terrorist networks.

Bit too late for the UK to follow suit now though

It's a very touchy subject in America as well. Colorado congressman, Tom Tancredo made a statement if Americans were under terrorist attacks again, that the US military should start attacking Islamic mosques and the places they pray. He is getting all kinds of backlash from minority groups throughout the country now.

Bro I work on Wall St. and I have to travel through the HOLE that was the WTC every day twice a day to get home. Maybe if you were here you'd understand. If they hit us again, our economy is F'd and I'm out of a job. Maybe if they understood that if they hit us again....we're taking out all of their BS religious sites. I'm an atheist...and religion itself is the devil. I'm a peaceful person, but if they mess with my city again, I'll volunteer (if I'm alive) to drop the A Bomb on Mecca. You just can't understand unless you live, work, and party in new york. It's our home. F the sand people.

In Colorado, it's basically democratic. Tom Tancredo is an ultra conservative congressman who has pretty "right wing" views. Here is a link of the remarks he made. Keep in mind he was speaking "hypothetically".

Actually Brian, the last time Democrats carried Colorado in a Presidential Election was in 1964, when Lyndon Johnson beat Barry Goldwater by about 23%. In the past 100 years, Democrats carried Colorado only 7 times; 1908, 12, 16, 32, 36, 48 and 64 8O .

By the way, CO has had Republican Senators (Allard and Ben Campbell) for quite a while. It is debated that CO might be a swing state, but that remains to be seen. Either way the Dems in the flyover states are different from the Schumers and Feinsteins. For our friends across the pond, Chucky Schumer is the senator from NY, and Feinstein is the senator from CA.

That's quite possibly the stupidest post I have seen on Spotlight ever. It has no intellectual or practical merit whatsoever. It's an emotional reaction devoid of critical thought and, more importantly, a single trace of sanity.
