The Day After

Hey London folk. How's everyone doing this morning? How'd you get home last night? Did you have any problems making it to work today?

I hope nobody had any friends/family injured yesterday.

The outpouring of support from around the world has been great...

apart from kings cross and some small parts of the underground, trasport in london is back to 'normal' this am (those who live in london will get this joke)

I've spent enough time in London to understand what "normal" is  They probably have more trains running today than usual!

I was just reading the Sun. Never ceases to amaze me how tasteless that newspaper is... the descriptions are so gruesome it made me cringe.

Good morning everyone, hope everyone is well and didnt have any bad news awaiting them when (and if) you got home, whats the atmosphere like in town today, i can imagine alot of people will not be at work today!!!

Hope spirits are high and people are not too worried still, im sure all us Londoners will pull through and just be even stronger as a community, that includes all race and religions not just English!!

keep smiling London!! :)

I got the bus to work and there was an eery feeling on it, normally people are chatting on mobiles etc or getting impatient but everyone was very quiet.

Everywhere is definitely quieter but I think that's cos a lot of people were told not to come into work today.

I always use public transport you cheeky monkey (well when my chauffeur is not available  )

I had to walk all the way home last night which took me two and a half hours.

I'm about to leave to go to work via Victoria. Unfortunately watching the news it looks like security alerts are going to cause quite a bit of disruption today!

Walked from Angel yesterday afternoon to London Bridge, at one point we were the only people walking that way, thousands going in opposite direction 8O which made us a tad uneasy. Got a train relatively easy enough from Lon bridge back to Welling. This morning was a bit weird, understandably quieter than normal, and on the 43 from lon bridge to Angel the driver did a weird thing, he suddenly started to shout in pidgeon whatever into his radio, someone shouted back and next thing we all got booted off the bus @ old street??

Walked rest of the way!! :?

Definitely. On the way to work I went past one station that was closed with massive police presence outside and another road had been cordoned off completely and they were both in Ealing.

I'm at work this morning and feeling good about life going on as normal...despite the fact that I was on a hot date till 1am last night. *zzzzzzzzzzzz* V tired and on my last legs but it's Friday and will be time to go out again later ;)...I'm thinking I may hit the ghetto in soho but that's another story.

There seem to be so many positives and negatives floating around all at the same time...Live 8, Pride, B-live, the olympic win (yay!)...counter balanced by terrorism, the sad loss of two people to cancer and a good friend of mine going to pick up his HIV test results today (we're fearing the worst).

So as you can see, life has been a strange rollercoaster of good and bad times this past week.
Saw some nasty sights on the streets yesterday but it's nothing we weren't all prepared for...particularly the seasoned Londoner who sadly is used to this type of event (...the IRA bombs of the mid 80s). The streets were really crowded this morning becuase no one trusts public transport any more and there's an air of paranoia everywhere. A siren goes off and everybody jumps - this never happens in central London.

Not more secrurity alerts??? Apparently there was an explosion at both Brighton and East Croydon yesterday...both controlled ones because some suspect packages were found.

But I'm fine...despite feeling rough as a badgers a*se. Cup of tea time methinks. Where's drew and the hangover club when you need him?

:D

Better not...Sue and Sarah are on top jobsworth form this morning! They keep screeching that it's not fair how only a few people have made it into work today.

I think stealing biscuits and messing up the boardroom would push them over the edge.
